Missing games on Falcon

Postby moondog/.tSCc. » Wed Feb 26, 2003 9:16 pm

ok... here comes a list of games that are lost somewhere, maybe someone around reads this post and can share some informations with us or even provide us a copy or link...

h2o - the puzzle platformer by eko was already finished in late 1994, i have seen a bunch of screenshots and i know that agent t of cream had played it in his job as editor for the german st computer magazine, but since eko didn´t found a publisher, the game ended up in some attic as it seems... so my question: does anybody out there got hold of a copy? or a pre-release? alpha or beta version? it would be great to hear from you!

ragnarök - another strategic puzzler by imagitec, the amiga version of this game was definitly published, but i remember that it was planned for the falcon (and st?) as well and i remember a big 2 pages) article in an old issue of st format magazine about the game and as far as i remember (arf) there was a photo showing an atari machine (surely a falcon) that was running the game (or was it just a mock up screen?!) so again my question: does anybody know more about this project? was there ever an alpha or beta release?

planet of the red eagles - was planned to be a realtime strategic game from germany, eventually made by the makers of golden island that are some guys behind the old demo group risk... i remember a collection of screenshots (again just mock ups?) and i wonder if this game made it ever to alpha or even further stages?

ok peeps, share your memories here ;)

greetings, eric

hi ayreon...

about space junk, this game was put on hold as at the times it was developped it wasn´t possible to bring it on a usefull media to the falcon, as this game wasn´t possible to be delivered on disks,
at least as i heard... only the non playable preview was 7mb in size, so you can guess how it would have ended up... unfortunately cd rom was some kind of a foreign word for the falcon at this times and as this would be the only possibility to release the game there was no market for it...

interesting would be if anyone got hold of some further previews as i saw screenshots of the game that aren´t included in the demo version...

ok, and for further missing projects: frontier/eko/dune were working on projects called "heredis" (as jump´n´run), "s.p.a.s.m."
(a puzzle game) and an unknown ego shooter and agent t claimed that he had seen a preview of the last one... :?:

has there anyone further informations? please share them here

i´m sure there is more to come

greetings, eric

Hmm yeah i was aware that Space Junk was supposed to be released on CD. At the time i was thinking that ATARI would release their own cd-rom player (not that huge box for the ST range they should have marketed years before the Falcon). Oh well just an other fault of them not to support cd and cd games. Space junk could have been a seller. It looks better then all other games they released anyhow.

arf... just want to add that the game "ragnarök" wasn´t thought to be released on the Falcon, i digged out the mentioned article again (published in ST Format, Februar issue 1993, site 74) and must refresh my mind a bit, it was mainly an article about "Space Junk" but you can see on one photo a ST with the playfield of "Ragnarök" on the screen, but I can´t find out if it is running or just a mock-up...

I had the demo version of Space Junk... I thought it was actually playable... it let me move my mouse around and then it went onto another screen and then seemed to just freeze/sit there.

Any ideas?

Also, that Zzyorxx game looks sweet!

We need all the Falcon games we can get..... someone get in touch with all these people and get some new'er releases for us! :) haha...

I used to do that sort of thing, but those days are pretty much over for me (no real time to do all the research and questioning)

As far as I remember Space Junk was just a picture show with good music, all in all a great thing. Sad it wasn`t finished. Perhaps RA/Paradox got the old demo of it. It was on three disc (?!?) me thinks...

Graphically it was fantastic...and i do remember seeing screen shots and a couple of bits of footage on TV that were definatley not in the demo.

This would be a great find, just to see the extra screens!

Space Junk - yep you could "play it"

Postby sodas » Sat Feb 28, 2004 9:19 pm

Nope - the Space Junk demo was actually playable.

I remember that you used the joystick to "walk" your caracter to the right (slowly scrolling to a new screen).

In the end of the demo you were captured (and put with your head upside down), and then you had 3 dialogue choices, or something like that.

The graphics were BEAUTIFUL and me and my friends were drooling over it...

Yes Zweckform, you are all right - i still have got the Space Junk demo (about 4 MB!) in my Falcon collection. ;-)
A shame that it was never finished/released. :-(
As i remember the developers had the problem that the size of the game rises too fast so that it would be only available on CD-Rom...

I seem to remember that the company concerned went on to produce one of the definitive mid-90's 'hype over substance' games "Rise of the Robots".

Perhaps not such a great loss after all...

Space Junk

Postby MacFalcon » Fri Jul 09, 2004 8:59 am

Hello,

although I am a little late, what´s exactly this game space junk about, is it a shoot ´em up or jump ´n´run game?

Has anyone seen a homepage where to get information about it?

Cheers,

MacFalcon
