Question: Java games for mobile phones -> Falcon. Possibl

Hi all,
Pretty forward. Do you think that the falcon could run such games? Mobile Java is a light version of java since mobile phones don't have enough processing power. Secondly java creates a virtual machine so it's hardware independent. I think that all needed would be a port of the language to the falcon and we could have hundreds of games up and running.
This is just an idea. I don't have the knowledge to do that myself. If however you know that this is impossible... Express your views.

sorry but they dont have any java vm for atari ATM...

(only a old port of kaffe for mint ...)

euh... have i read right? "only a port of java"?! mhhhh... is it that easy... i hardly doubt that...
finally the games wouldn´t use any falcon specific hardware... just another emulation then...

that´s my humble ooinion

Moondog is right, porting a JVM isn't an easy thing.

Kaffe is the only one available for m68k but I don't think it's possible to run games with it...

I once had installed Kaffee for MiNT on my Falcon. It was unusable slow! Even a simple program that only wrote a "Hello World" on the screen needed about 2 or 3 minutes till it finished.
So Java on the Falcon - forget it!

indeed.. java vm is really damn slow. a ct60 would be minimum. maybe with a JIT it would be okay...
