Alice's Mom's Rescue is a puzzle / platformer game in the pure style of old school pixel art.
The giant raven has captured Alice's mother.
Help Alice save her mother through the 3 worlds and 25 levels!
Change Alice's height by jumping on the magic mushrooms to get through the tiny spaces.
But be aware that a small size will also affect Alice's physical abilities!
Solve puzzles, beware of the evil cats, birds, bats & spikes, and find the right path to victory.

The game is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian languages !

The game is compatible with the Atari Falcon CT60, and the Firebee computer.
It's available here on my itch.io store for a small price ! Enjoy :)

I will buy it for sure! :)

Is Joypad (e.g. Jaguar pad on 15pin connector) supported on Atari Falcon?
Did you use SDL? Can you give us some technical details about making the game (how did you manage to convert it to Falcon, what tools, language and libraries did you use...)? What was biggest challenges to get it run on CT60/FireBee or even Jaguar?...

btw it looks really nice! Did you make all graphics and sound by yourself?
and can we expect Zia to run on CT60 also? (I really enjoy old school RPGs most!)
using Atari since 1986.http://wet.atari.orghttp://milan.kovac.cc/atari/software/ ・ Atari Falcon030/CT63/SV ・ Atari STe ・ Atari Mega4/MegaFile30/SM124 ・ Amiga 1200/PPC ・ Amiga 500 ・ C64 ・ ZX Spectrum ・ RPi ・ MagiC! ・ MiNT 1.18 ・ OS X

The standard joystick should work, but not Jaguar pad.

calimero wrote:Did you use SDL? Can you give us some technical details about making the game (how did you manage to convert it to Falcon, what tools, language and libraries did you use...)?

The CT60 version is a port of the Jaguar version of Alice, which itself is a hack of my own PC/Android game library which is in C / OpenGL.
For the Falcon framework, I use my own system available here http://onorisoft.free.fr/atari/falcon.htm (in tools section, Falcon demo system)

calimero wrote:What was biggest challenges to get it run on CT60/FireBee or even Jaguar?...

The Jaguar version was a big challenge because I had to convert all in 256 colors and hack my game library to make it work on Jaguar, the CT60 port was pretty straight forward, because I just had to rewrite the sprite/tilemap engine in assembly, and the CT60/Firebee is fast enough to make it playable at 30fps, I guess that a stock Falcon port should be feasible but would require much much work with use of specific falcon hardware (blitter/hardscroll).

calimero wrote:btw it looks really nice! Did you make all graphics and sound by yourself?

No, I use a lots of graphics & musics from http://opengameart.org/, detailed credits are in the game and readme.

calimero wrote:and can we expect Zia to run on CT60 also? (I really enjoy old school RPGs most!)

I guess it can be done :)
I just need to finish it first, I'm at 50% of the game, and almost 6 months of full time work already :/

I purchased Alice for the Falcon and the FireBee. I tried it on my FireBee with MiNT+XaAES+Terradesk and with plain FireTOS and it doesnt work. I get the same result in both cases. I only get language selection screen with english flag selected and there it stops. I cant do anything, I just hear keyclick when I press a key on the keyboard :(

It's pretty playable, even from the crippled '060 Hatari emulation. The sign of a quality game, it shines even on less optimal hardware. I guess this will fly on a CT60 :-)

do you have the latest version of FireTOS ? (2014) from firebee.org ?
I should have mentioned that it works with USB keyboard only for now.

Any chance it would run on CT2? Looks pretty good, if not I guess the Dreamcast could get a run. :D

A friend of mine tried it on his CT2 and it was way too slow, I guess the 030 is not as good as the 060 :/
Here is the Dreamcast release: http://hucast.com/product_info.php?info ... cast-.html
I'm ashamed of the high price (I personally would have sold it for twice less) but it's the publisher decision :/

I don't have a TT, and it's not playable on a Falcon CT2 @50Mhz, so don't bother with TT at 32mhz ...

I bought the game and like it a lot, but for some reason, on my Falcon standard joystick button does nothing, I have to use the space bar to jump. I tested my joystick with other games, it is working fine. Anybody has the same issue?

I've just bought the game but I'll have to run the Linux version since I only have an Atari keyboard on my Firebee... I Hope you'll be able to fix the keyboard problem, Orion.

Anyway. You seem to be on fire, mate. Keep 'em coming
