Doesn't work with my BlowUP FX either, i get 3 bomb's! :x did you use the program "SetFlags.Prg"? to set in FastRAM?

The program is alread "flagged" to be loaded into Fast-RAM.

Please try to avoid loading other programs before starting (like AUTO folder programs and accessories). I also would recommend to check if the transfer of the files was successful without any corrupted data.

and how much original Cho Ren Sha on X68000 require?? Falcon need to store compiled sprites in memory.

beside Jaguar should be able to throw pretty impressive number of sprites on screen, right? It was designed like ultimate 2D machine.

IMHO I think that porting Cho Ren Sha 68k to the Jaguar is not impossible...

Hi Anima, i did all of the above and looks like it's still bombing out 2-3 bombs! i also tried different video settings and same thing! hmmm

Coz of RAM (lack of it)?
Or lack of MMU? You said: "porting" - MMU is required for porting but someone could wrote game with such amount of sprites and bullets on Jaguar...

The "disassembled" source of Cho Ren Sha 68k is available and it's completely clean MC68000 assembler. In this case the MMU is not used for the Atari Falcon version (compared to the Neo Geo system "emulation"). So except for some OS Traps redirection there's a clean hook in the source for graphics output. Since the precompilation of sprites is not needed almost all of the data can be stored in ROMs.

Does the program detect the Fast-RAM properly by displaying that in the "detected machine" text at the very first text screen right after start?

you mean the Driver for the FX Xtender? ya it detects the Fast-RAM.

Hi,
@Anima : I've been playing to Cho Ren Sha on the Falcon030 for almost 2 years. Lately I was wondering if you would add a scrolling to CRS, since I seem to remember that it was once on your todo list ?
Anyway thanks for this great port !

Wow, really great that you're still playing it.

Unfortunately finding the time for the scrolling implementation was quite hard due to real life activities. Also a new (secret) Atari project is on the way so I cannot make a promise for the schedule. However, I have some ideas to improve Cho Ren Sha 68k.

Hi !
@Anima, do you know the "Vampire Accelerator card" for the Amiga family ? One of their member wishes to work with your help to port Cho Ren Sha on this hardware... would you be agree with that ?

I loooooooooove Cho Ren Sha on my Falcon... and also on my X68000 ;-) But you did a very good job on the Falcon ! :-)

I've got your message on my blog as well. Sorry for the late reply. I'll send you an email with my address for him to contact me.

As for the hint I can only say that the custom tools work quite well but the results for the interesting "things" need quite a lot rework. However, it should be good enough to use it. I'll give you some more details when I am certain that the resulting code runs properly on the Atari.

It was already discussed here in this forum, I opened the thread, and nobody believes me, that something is comming... It's not the obvious starter topic in the following thread, but it's related to it and mentioned several times there as the 2nd project, based on the 1st one. As it's quite secret, I talk like the oracle of Delphi... As they refuse to use SuperVidel for it, I guess that they are using SAGA which already was demonstrated in that thread on a different platform with EmuTOS. viewtopic.php?f=101&t=30628 Believe me, or not.

Yes ! And despite the fact that CRS is a very entertaining and challenging game (which in itself already justify playing to it), seeing such a game running on a standard Falcon030 adds even more joy. :)

Oh, thanks. I'm glad to see that you still have some interest in Cho Ren Sha, I'm looking forward to these improvements.

As for your secret projetc, will it be another port of a X68K game or will it be something totally new ? (just out of curiosity)
