Hm... I try all 20 levels and I do not see any restrictions in gameplay :)

Maybe registration is optional :)

Maybe you have more levels when registered... I remember that our coders where in touch with the developer back in the day.

As a quick and dirty check, I'd byte-compare the un-regged v1.2 and the registered v1.2 - both the .PRG and the .CFG file. And play spot-the-difference :)

Handily the debug labels were left in. Unfortunately, it's looking like a compiled language (with extra libraries) to my untrained eye. So I can see the 'Registered to name' text and I can see it's used a few times (although this could possibly just be for printing).

Without having an unregistered v1.2 to compare it against, this is about as far as I can go (as it's a pub quiz night) :)

Do you still live in Les Sables d'Olonnes ? I could help you to transfer files, if you don't have a floppy drive in your PC nor CF reader in your Falcon... But I'm near Paris.

Re: Tank Blaster

Hello,

So I will make a Freeware version of TankBlaster. It's a long time I would like to do it but the main problem is to transfer files and as time passed I think that it will interest nobody. Some time ago I have thought to give it to opensource but the sound part (Soundtrack + digital sound via DSP) is not from me and sprite display are autogenerated in assembler so it is a bit complicated.
However thank to the people who have registered to Tankblaster like Omikronman !
First I will try to find some old floppy disk. I have some old PC with floppy drive. But I hope my Falcon Floppy drive always works.
I have read somewhere that ZIP and Jazz drive work on Falcon maybe if I found one in my office. After maybe with Ghostlink ?

I have also thought to an PC version but I have not enough time. My passion to make software/game is became my job so now I spend more my free to time to play than to code ;-). I thank my Atari ST and Falcon to give me the taste to code.

Why I'am back in this forum ? I think that I have an account a long time ago.
But during my summer holidays I have replay to this fantastic Dynabuster with Pardalis (Music of TankBlaster) and my brother (some graphic in tankblaster). Pardalis was registered to Dynabuster. We love Dynabuster and have a lot of in to play it. We have played a lot of time to it. Thanks to all team of TSCC (I see Lotek_style here) to give us the more fun game I have played ! 20 years after (1993) it is always fun. Even people who doesn't know it have fun to play it. My dream is to have a little PC with 6 joystick on my TV only to play to Dynabuster !
In a first time we have played on my Falcon but my old joysticks have a lot of problem.
So after some test we successfully run Dynabuster on STEEM emulator with good USB joystick. The other problem was to find a full version of Dynabuster. After some search I have found Hatari emulator who can emulate a Falcon and Tankblaster was listed to work on it. But If the game work fine all the option I have tested give distorted sound...

And yes I have the luck to always leave near Les Sables d'Olonne.

Is this with the latest Hatari release (v1.7) and are you using Hatari version built with "old UAE" CPU core, or the one with "WinUAE" CPU core? Latter is meant (only) for Falcon emulation, but there are still some cases where the "old UAE" CPU core is more compatible even in the Falcon emulation case.

Hello,

I have downloaded this version 1.7 from here :
http://download.tuxfamily.org/hatari/1.7.0/
I have to .exe :
hatari.exe and hatari_falcon.exe

I have also tested an version 1.3.0 form here :
http://download.tuxfamily.org/hatari/1.3.0/
In this version 1.3 the sound was better but always distorted.

It's normal. When I code Falcon stuff in Hatari, about 1/5 of the times the sound is OK, the other times it's distorted. I also notice that left/right channels gets swapped around sometimes, which further suggests it's not working perfectly (yet). I'm mostly using DSPMOD or MP2-Audio in my programs.

We can only hope that these issues will be ironed out in the future.
