Compiling a list of missing demos

Postby Brume » Tue Nov 30, 2004 10:03 am

After the list of wanted games, it's time to work on the demos part ;)
This list will be very hard to compile. I noticed many dudes from the old times renamed the demos they received, or they badly named them. But well, we can try.
Here are 4 titles that comes in mind:
- Le Prisonnier by Falcon
- M-Demo 2 by An Cool (yeah!)
- Mais Kestananafout by Alchemy Crew
- Marylin Monroe by the Conceptors

Feel free to add more missing titles.
Thanks,

Brume.

Does anyone have "On The Bog Demo" by (can't remember name of crew now) .. if so, that's one I can image up that I found in a disk box of mine.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Completely different demo .. think it was one I got sent by a new group who didn't do much else. I think it will need STOS fixing as I'm almost sure it was a STOS sampled demo or something like that.

Does anybody have :

- SNIF by RIBBON :P

It's the latest demo we released on STe. Like all our prods on ST it's done in GFA. There's a long 6.25Khz sample from Maccross replayed with the DMA, and AFAIR there's a sort of rotozoom in dots, plus an horizontal wave. We were really lame to spread our own prods back in 1994, and I doubt I still have the original disk.

The Blue Adept demo with the bottom border open technique .. stuff of folklore methinks.

I was wondering about M-Demo 2 myself, I always did wonder about that, after 12 years I finally know.

:D

Has anyone ever seen it though?

I'm after a ravey type demo which has Rainbow choon init somewhere, I think it had one huge .MOD track too. If memory serves me correct it was a newish UK production(around 93/4). Any Idea's?

:D

Peace...

The M-Demo 2 exists, but it hasn't been spread so far...
The demo also appears on an old listing done by a member of FM. He got it. But no one else seems to have received it from An Cool

Hello

Sorry Brume, I know I was in the wrong place but couldn't delete.

This nice DCK megademo was repacked by me ages ago so it's not the original format but who cares? :)

Enjoy

Well I mailed Mr A.N Cool, spoke to him nicely and asked a couple of questions that have puzzled me for well over a decade(MDemo 2 etc), but all he replied with was a .ZIP file of MDemo rips. It was nice to get those, but none of my questions were answered.

Ah well, I tried. Fair play to him for sending some stuffs though.

Thanks a lot for this rare demo mOa :) I was in contact with Derl many years ago, he sent the "I am Not Swedish" disks, but I didn't own this Kestanafout demo. Probably the largest demo done in DCK? Not the best one, but the largest.
No worries about the other post, I'll include it in the final list.
Thanks again,
Brume.

***UPDATE***

This was the second email I received, the first one only just came through(looked at the time & dates)!!! I blame my E-Mail server/provider for that one. Anyways...

...got a pleasent reply from him and M-DEMO 2 is similar to the first M-Demo(i.e. just a menu and some YM choons), but he decided to make a proper demo, hence M-Demo's 3 & 4 were born. So now you know. M-Demo 2 isn't like 3 & 4, so your prolly not missing out on much.

I'll see if he has a copy or can obtain one, it might only be a YM chip affair but it would be nice for us to see a rare demo. :)

:D

Peace...

But you're going to post the file here for us all to share anyway ;-)

And the TCB Tracker tunes that you've been after ;-)

Heh heh, no worries. I'll host up the M-Demo 3 and 4 MOD's in the new year. They are slightly slow and some of the commands are missing, but i've been a .MOD composer for 10 years so it'll be a peice of piss to perfect them(i've tried it on a couple of them already).

Cheers also on the E-Mail MugUK. Did I hear you mention the name Orm in this thread somewhere?!?! If your refering to Ormolu of Digi Tallis then tell him I said Hi.

:)

Peace...
