Anyone with a real ST/STE/TT/Falcon in Liverpool area?

Postby Mug UK » Fri Apr 30, 2004 10:33 am

Wanted someone with a real ST to help raid my floppy disks as there are disks I cannot read with Makedisk, WFDCopy or even Disk2FDI! Ideally it'd be connected to a PC or something that I can copy onto PC formatted disks/CDRs?

Must be in or near Liverpool/Wirral/Chester and got a few hours to spare over a weekend.

I'd need the disks put back onto CDR so that I can take them away .. what you do with the disks afterwards is up to you. Keep them as a memento ;-)

Either private message me .. or get in touch via Instant Messanger.

Thanks for the one bloke who replied, but I've (hopefully) found a work-around.

Someone in work had an Atari 1040STE in the boot of his car with a replay digitiser and other gubbins. Collecting it next week along with an old P3-700 PC so I can use that for ripping disk images ..

All I got to do now is get the two networked up, find my old Megafile and blow the dust off it.

Grazey .. will need that Ultimate Ripper cartridge with the EGB MONST back :)

I have a 1meg upgraded, dodgey mouse port (aren't they all now-a-days?) STe, so if the current solution doesn't work out I can send it to you if you want.

Mike,

I now live at Orrell near Wigan (other end of the M58 from Liverpool). I have a 4Mb Ste and a 512K STe. Dunno what happened to my 4Mb STFM cos it vanished during a house move.

You can come and use mine anytime. I also have a standard 4Mb Falcon sat here gathering dust. I have a mono monitor in the attic as well. I was given it free but I have never tested it.

If you want to donate any to a good home then let me know. Got a MegaST2 with Megafile (but 60 MB drive has one knackered partition which included all my old source code) and an un-tested 1040STE ...

Need something with a h/drive preferably as can't use an ST without one these days.

I gave my ICD adapter away years ago so I only have a hard drive on my Falcon - sorry.
