Hehehe "It's a Dog's Life" mp3 rips
eMule link:
ed2k://|file|Sparky%20of%20Pompey%20Pir ... and%20Boyz).rar|9261958|ABFB789A915206FBC4415D9DC3521B5D|h=GRUAHPDMA4MEV7UVVBUTVRNAEJI7EACC|/

I allways loved the Pompey Pirates, and allways loved finding the cool menus with Sparky's music.
Would be cool to get sparky's contact info to see if he still got any of his original works.
Could have some fun rewriting it nowdays :)
remember Alien of PP was/is a very good programmer and some of the replay codes may have been altered in some way to stop ripping from the menus .
Just a thought. I used to use the ultimate ripper cart on the ST and some of the tunes I could never get ripped properly, Inc the tune above "Yep it really is a dogs life)

Sorry don't know if the emule link is allowed, I have this file and it's clean from crap! (3 mp3's)
I need some barking dog samples, gonna have ago at re-witing this tune :) Allways remember mate being bored while I just listened to the tune :)

Regards
ZX81v2 - PS Mug UK, your stuff on the ST was cool :) Nice to see some of the old skool faces still going :) respect

Here are the sparky MSA's which have 4Q files on them.

You can use the program on the disks to seperate them back into 4V & .SET for editing

Or drag the 4Qs off the disk to an atari drive which your PC can see too and play them using Jamplayer in windows!
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

ZX81v2 - welcome aboard and thanks for the kind words. Hacking Quartet tunes (back in the old days) was good fun. A bit easier now using STEEM but it must be a few years since I've attempted any :)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Thanks MiggyMog! :) Well separation is not necessary. WinJam 2.1 replays .4Q on PC :)

Yeah well I think so too but that does still not confirm one of the names... not sure if any of the info is correct.

Hi lotek_style,

Your first comment (the 13th) to this thread in 2004 has an attachment called sparky.zip
which contains SPARKY01.MSA and SPARKY02.MSA.

I believe that the answers to the Missing music and to who Sparky really is; have been here
the whole time just waiting to be discovered!

I've discovered that there is a player on each disk for the Excellent music contained within.

Sorry... there is NOTHING on that disks that 100% confirms who is Sparky.... The Player doc-files tells DAN PANKE as the creator of the utilities but is HE really SPARKY? Sorry there is NO evidence.

Dan Panke was a coder of (mainly GFA) utils. When I was in contact with him he made no suggestions that he was Sparky.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I wanted to clear up the mystery about Sparky. Jim Thomson, USA is the correct answer. My dad! :D

Thanks a lot :) Is he still around? Has he maybe any old unreleased musics lying around?

Are we allowed to put his realname into our DB?

Sure, that's fine! It looks like you have the same two Quartet Music Collections that I have. Unfortunately that's all there is. Currently he is a composer for TV. I still have his Atari ST. I love it.

From what I remember he was the coder behind quite a few ZX Spectrum utils when emulators first came out.

I doubt that he wants his real name spread over the net :)

Any hints as to what these spectrum utils might be?
