Just because I can, I don't want support, I want to figure things out for myself.
Even if I can't get it to work and probably loose interest in it very fast anyway doesn't mean I won't enjoy soldering it together and will try to write software for it.
Things like using the midi in and use your ST as an opl2 instrument is pretty cool in my book.

I ordered one and will use my own imagination to see what I can do with it.

There will be OPL3LPT soon! Opl3 sounds like that songs from ACEtracker2 on FALCON! They are small... Like 32kb or so.

Ideal for demoscene, games, musicdisks...

Adlib Tracker 2 is a no go for the st, on a pc to run fine needs nothing less than Pentium, the songs files require lots of cpu power to decode.

i think to remember something about there is a hardware bug in the opl2 chips. something with its interrupts,
so on the PC we had to use "In" because you had a constant delay no matter how fast your pc was (8mhz)

here is code snip from my MS Dos player

Code: Select all

                mov     dx,regsport
                add     dx,portadd
                out     dx,al
                in      al,dx

                xchg    al,ah
                mov     dx,dataport
                add     dx,portadd
                out     dx,al
                in      al,dx
                in      al,dx
                in      al,dx
                in      al,dx
                in      al,dx
                in      al,dx

Helo FedePede04 my friend. How are you?
Any news on ST Paint? Where can I download your latest OPL3 Tracker!!!
Of course!!! Your tracker is best for WINDOWS and SubZ3ros for MSDOS!!!

BTW for OPL3 nonbelievers...
Here is MALFUNCTION/Altair - opl303 song...
https://soundcloud.com/mlfatr/opl303
Just listen to that ACID SOUND!!!

And imagine this in STE or ST demo!!! Like Farbraush sound!!!

Adlibtracker2??? Pentium??? It can run on 486DX 50mhz too!!!
OPL3 and OPL4 is not so CPU intensive... On MSX computer there is OPL4
cartridge. And MSX is Z80 computer...
I am talking about song replay not composing on ST.

MSX+opl4...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGhML7YmmdQ

I wonder why do we not have something similar???

Or ym2149+ym2203 combo... Soundboard into YM socket... Like on Atari 800 stereo pokey upgrade...

Hi matej
i am better now not so tired anymore so that is good, i am hoping that i soon can start working again but the last 4 years have been hard, i also hope that you are OK.

i just thought that i would come with some input about the opl2,
and then i saw your post i was thinking that i just would say Hello to you :D
I'm was just kidding you about my tracker, because i knew that you know about it from the old fm forum
but it was not my windows tracker i was talking about, it was my old dos OPL3 tracker i meant  :D

here is a video is you don't remember it

it is going fine with ST-Paint, i don't recall which version you have seen, but the newest version have layers and got many functions.
i don't know if you are on FB, but i can add you to the ST-Paint FB group, if you like.

i will pack a version for you with the latest version of Power-FM and send you a dropbox link, i probably first have the time to do it tomorrow.

"Here is MALFUNCTION/Altair - opl303 song..."
damn it's wicked, what a great bass sound i can see that my program can't compete with that

liked i said, i would just say hi, and its dam'n good to see that you are still around :)
see you
/Peter
