STfm .mod play routines.

Postby SoLo2 » Thu Apr 22, 2004 2:47 am

I did have to rip Satan's .mod
replay routine 13 years back,
but I can't believe I have to
do such again nowadays...

I have tried the sources of
ST-Connexion ProTracker, and
I am very fond that someone
releases such a code, but those
are the lesser quality ones.

Well they consume less processor,
so I suppose for intros, demos they
are not very bad, but I want some
sound quality (using ModPlug
allday... 8) )

So, here again (one for the FAQ):
where do I find some good quality
.mod replay routines for my code?

Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks, Grazey!

Till now the only good sounding
replay routine I have found is
An Cool's from The carebears.
Although I like more a version
available in one of his trackers:
(Lo) is in low volume, and so
the noise is reduced.

All Other routines I have tried
had lots of noise.

What I meant (to DMA) is that
I use ModPlug (for 80x86) all
day, and it gives, for the same
.mod music, a much better
quality of sound. But I think
the ST is capable of very good
quality of sound (as the YM2149
is capable of a broad spectrum
of frequencies), but as I said,
till yet the only really good I
could listen to, was Lo volume
by TCB's tracker.

Hi SoLo2,

Try the source code from HMS Soundtrack, it replay many mods since Soundtracker v 2.5 with frq at 12,5 Khz maxi.
