Falcon & TT tracker questions.

Postby STEdawg » Sat Dec 19, 2015 9:09 pm

Hi.

With my old STE I used to make modules using trackers like Protracker, DBE etc, I could use samples of 44khz and play back the whole 4 channels at 50khz(just about). My questions...

What results can be achieved with a Falcon, i.e. whats the max number of channels I can use at 50khz and what tracker software is available?

Also, where does the TT fit into this? Does the TT have the same spec audio hardware as the STE? Are there any TT trackers out there that can utilise the extra CPU horsepower?

Thanks for any answers.

ACE Tracker and MaxYMiser are sound choices for the Falcon (see specs):

ACE Tracker / MIDI Digi Tracker (Falcon specific):

MaxYMiser Chip Tracker (with 2 channels of digi samples):

There are no TT specific trackers as far as I am aware.

Those are awesome too!
Anything that works for the STE should be perfect also for the TT. Try Sirius for playing tunes? X-Track or DBE or Octalyser will be nice. Player for Gem playback should be cool as is the obvious JAM :)

Not everything works on the TT. It took me a while to find trackers and players that worked OK even though the STE and TT both share the same audio hardware.

Good call, Digital Tracker (DT) and the later Digital Home Studio (DHS) for the Falcon only.
