Postby d0us » Tue Dec 27, 2016 2:22 pm

Hope you all had a great xmas ;)

But this has been bugging me all weekend. The music from pompey pirates menu 95 (with alien vs predator pic).

I know it's a famous tune but I can't id it.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

It's from Wreckers (C64: Warren Cann, ST: Warren Cann, SFX: David Whittaker).

This is not a game I am familiar with and when I downloaded it the intro music sounded as if it had digidrums.
The digidrums version is in the SNDH archive under Warren Cann and the normal version is under David Whittaker.

Now the version on PP95 is plain David Whittaker format with no digi drums. Is it used in the game?
Maybe Alien got it from a demo version of the game?

I don't think Wreckers is on a menu by either Pompey Pirates, Automation or Medway Boys but it's on Atari Mania in STX format:

Double check:
It's also on d-bug 99 and Superior CD81.
Still got, still working: Atari 4Mb STe, 520STFM, 2.5Mb STF.
Hardware: Cumana CSA 354, Ultimate Ripper, Blitz Turbo, Synchro Express II (US and UK Versions).

Thanks yeh I remember this game now! And I looked at a couple of vids and none have the chip versions, but only the digi version i think done in quartet.

But the sndh archive did have the ym versions but no idea where they were used!
