I was going to say 'Sickest So Far' from PYM, but you could almost take your pick from that demo.

Catchy? Needs special brain soap to get that one out of your head.

The punish your machine main menu by Big Alec is very Catchy and one which pops into my head often, I think it's a cover of a C64 tune right enough.

TIm Follins G & G Music was some of the most catchy stuff not to have used sid voice etc.

I quite like the Christopher Guard music on Skate tribe too.

There are so many great tunes, arghhh. TAO has some nice ones.

Jochen has so many which were used over and over but for good reason.

One day I will finish my er compositions :-)

I'll start off with 2 nominations.

Ranarama
Zynaps

Note that they don't have to be your favourite tunes just the ones you can't get out if your head :-)

Jon

Yup Zynaps.

As soon as I spotted the thread that tune jumped into my head... It took me a minute or so to remember which game it was from though.

Honourable mention for the theme tune on Eliminator. Nice to leave that one on and let it loop. 8)

Punish your machine - sickest so far
(never realised it was a version of a section of Mike Oldfield's Tubular bells until recently!)

First time it was ever used was in an ST News mag. One of the final ones I guess (vols 11 or 12)

There are some nice tunes here, many I've heard before.
Apologies if it's already in this thread and I missed it, but a tune I heard ripped and used in lots of intro's and even a tetris game was by Mad Max (I think?) and it had a morse code-like voice going just about the whole time. That used to get stuck in my head.

The music from Outrun also still gets stuck in my head to this day.
Especially the tune that starts at 3:46

Sorry, I can't pick one. Mad Max was my first Atari ST chiptune hero, but later joined by the likes of Tao, Cerror and 505, and too many others to mention. Just like to say a quick thank you Atari tunesmiths everywhere for what they did / what they do. It's appreciated.

i'm surprised no one mentionned chambers of shaolin by mad max yet...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G7WyWx72Zo
the intro is long on this one but when the beat kicks in... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7au-1xk4X8
when the snare kicks in yummy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZafQx5ivLVY

they all are available on sndhrecord btw http://sndhrecord.atari.org/mp3/Mad_Max/Games/

retrospectively i think the music played a huge role in how much i loved this game

Was the sampled version at the start in the Powerpack version? I'm guessing probably not, but my memory is fuzzy.

And my submission is for this:

Still have this intro music in my head.

No the powerpack version does not have the sampled music only the original release does afaik.

BTW Exxos does not seem to be active here anymore but here is my video of Star Ray and it play the full intro :)
