Postby djam » Sat Dec 26, 2009 6:47 pm

Good evening fellows.
I know there are great experts around there :)

I'm crawling my SNDH folder and i really wonder who are those musics from. They are almost all in mad max folder but....

Thanatos
Ace 2
Commando (main music and End tune)
Delta
Goldrunner
Ledstorm
Sleepwalker

Thank you very much atarists :)

I know LED Storm main theme is written by Tim & Mike Follin.

Try google - the info is out there.

Years ago I did some tune research for pompey pirates menus:

http://www.google.co.uk/m/search?oe=UTF ... pirates%2F

delta is rob hubbard (C64 version) but mad max did the ST version.

Download the SNDH archive, I think all this knowledge has already been catalogued.

DJAM: I guess you will find all originals in the HVSC c64 music archive... as far as I know Mad Max converted all tunes from the C64.

Unless there are same names for several tunes then this would be correct info:

Thanatos : julian breeze, the version Mad Max covered is probably from C-64 wich is by Rob Hubbard, so it might differ from the original Spectrum version (by Julian).

Ace 2 : Rob hubbard

Commando (main music and End tune) : Rob hubbard (original by : Tamayo Kawamoto) actually the Highscore music is Hubbard's original if thats what you mean by "End tune", the other music is a remix/medley of the original arcade music.

Delta : Rob Hubbard

Goldrunner : Rob Hubbard, originally he did this music for the C-64 game "The Human Race" and later re-used it for Goldrunner.

Ledstorm : Tim Follin

Sleepwalker : Must be the Amiga demo-music (MOD) by "Karsten Obarski" you mean, the game Sleepwalker is not in the SNDH archive and is afaik not using the YM2149 (it is STE DMA sound only?).

Are we to expect some more remixes? I really liked the last few.

@ StefanJl : Wow thanks for all your informations. And you're right i'm talking about Sleepwalker the game. And i found a tune in the SNDH archive named : sleepwalker-digi.sndh (but this one does not want to be played with Audio Overload :(

@Alexh : Maybe :) The first one was most of mad max, the second Rob hubbard.... What's gonna be the next ? Btw thanks for your warm feedbacks. Feel free to leave a little message on my site http://www.moonove.fr/?p=189

The SNDH file called "sleepwalker-digi" is Tao's cover of Karsten Obarski's "Sleepwalk" MOD from the Amiga and not from any game.

Here is a link to info about the game Sleepwalker:
http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_detail.php?game_id=18 None of it's music is in the SNDH archive.

Sleepwalker gamemusic in MOD format can be downloaded here:

What an amazing story behind the author of the original track; he's the father of tracking (sample based) music.
