making 8 bit music on my atari 1040 ste

Postby denajapan » Fri Jan 30, 2009 4:20 pm

hi people, im new to this web site and also to my atari 1040ste really,
please be patient with me! sorry ive just got the atari out from my attic and want to use it in my bedroom studio.

Basically ive been looking through the posts and cannot find what im looking for. my question is-
Can i make 8 bit chiptune type music on my 1040ste? is there a program i can get with a step sequencer that utilyses the ataris own sound chip? that is not ultra complicated, where can i get it?

i already have cubase and have used it as a sequencer in the past.

thankyou very much for your time

cheers

I recommend MaxYMiser too, it's powerful and the online help is fantastic. I use Sidsound designer too, editing the instruments requires less effort, but the sequencer is not half as good.

maxynmiser is by far the most advanced ym tracker out there.

Musicmon 2.5e is not as powerful but sintantly gratifying and you'll be rocking tunes out in no time using this program
