My second Atari Manual

Postby Gryzor » Sun Sep 07, 2003 7:32 am

...or something like that. Anyone has it in electronic form? Or, anyone willing lending it to me for a few days so I can scan it and OCR it?

Cheers

YOUR SECOND MANUAL to the Atari ST - Andrea Ramos – ST Club

Postby Pastor » Mon Oct 01, 2007 10:27 pm

Hi Guys

I too would be very interested in purchasing or receiving a copy in electronic form. Great book bought it when it was released by the then ST Club.

Please see if you have a spare copy lying around.

thanks

Paul

Hi
As useual I can't locate the manual (living out of boxes still! Builders due tommorrow to do some of the unfinished work). But here I believe is the disk that came with "your second manual" - if that's of any use.

Comment: I've tried to upload the disk of programs three times and it won't effing work. It's a .zip file with a .st image in it. I get the response "tried to upload an empty file". poo - peed off now. Tried it as a .st file that didn't work either.
regards
BJ

PhpBB forums are weird with their uploading ritual. When you post you obviously click on 'Add an Attachment'. When you've selected your file you then have to click on 'Attach' for the file to actually upload. Maybe you already know this and there's a prob with your file or the forum, I can't say for sure.

Well, as I said (back in 2003, no less!!!), if anyone feels like posting it to me for a few days, I'll make sure I scan and OCR it...

Still interested in me scanning it?

@wongck: this was what people called "the manual that Atari should have published". A proper ST manual, that is*.

*to be fair, I always found the manual that came with my 1040STFM quite adequate...

The one for my STFM seems good enough.
So what's makes the one so special?

Hi
Better late than never. Here's version 4 of Your Second Manual to The ST. And the Disk that accompanied the manual too!
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Ok, read some of it.
Now I understand why it's the 2nd Atari Manual.
It just explain the terms & general workings of a computer with a twist to the ST.
In the present days, it's called a dummy's guide to a computer

Excellent book and well written. I bought the Finnish translation back in 90's called "ST-käyttäjän käsikirja". It was translated by the same guy who wrote the original Netherworld
