Barbarian Psygnosis - HOW?

Postby WillieSea » Mon Dec 25, 2006 1:06 am

Does anybody know how you are supposed to get past the metal knight in Barbarian from Psygnosis? I would like to get that bow.
All I found you can do is die. And die a lot!!!

I managed to get a bow from another area. It was on a wobbly bridge that collapses under your feet if your not running and jumping.
I killed the red fire breathing lizard, but am having difficulty getting out. One way, there is a swinging club, which must be one way only, since I get clubbed in the head trying to go past it. It swings clock-wise, so I am running into it. If it went the other way, I could ride with it.

:?: Does anyone know what your supposed to do in the game? Is there an ending and if so, what is is?
When I go out the other way, in the swamp, there is a one way trap as well. :?: What am I supposed to do?

Why, RetroGamerUK, I was wondering when you would give your useful comments.

Of course I am cheating, how do you think I played it for more than 10 minutes without the game ending cause I ran out of lives? 8O

If anyone has actually finished this game, a note on the fact would be nice. I am beginning to think the version I am playing is buggy. It is trained (not by me) so that you never loose a life. I think the game probably should have ended when I killed the red fire breathing lizard. (I would call it a dragon, but it lacks the wings. It look more like a lame dinosaur.)

Are there any useful comments?
Has anyone finished this game?

My good man (and forum), if there were only useful comments in the world then it would be a pretty quiet place.
Of course I have never cheated at any computer game :ehum:

Your right, it is very quiet... Exceedingly quiet. Almost as if everyone has been turned into corporate zombies, the kind that have no fun, the kind that squelch ideas, the kind that, heaven forbid, do not play computer games anymore!
Aaugh! Run for the computer and boot up an old Atari Favorite before it is too late! 8O Aaaaaaah!

BTW, I have never cheated at any game, just made them a little more playable, thats all. 8) Thats my story and I am sticking by it...

I think the real reason for the quite is...

(said slowly, in a deep voice from on high...)
N o b o d y - k n o w s ! ! !

I will play with it some more and see if I can figure anything out.

Tried a different game image (automation 64) and finally won at the game.

Getting past that swinging rock hammer was the toughest.
Figuring out the shield was another.

If you bow down all the time as if to pick up something, he'll pass.
But it seems this trick wasn't foreseen. The knight's supposed to be unbeatable. The bow is fake, there's nothing to pick up!

After you kill the mad wizard, you must come back to the starting point.
The trap in the swamp means this way is totally blocked. You mustn't go there.

I know you completed the game since but those questions were still open.
