YM4 file

Postby Targhan » Thu Oct 11, 2018 9:44 am

Hi all,

I'm looking for all the types of YM that can be found, for a special feature of Arkos Tracker 2. I have all of them except YM4 (and YM1, which I guessed was never released!). Does anyone of you have a few songs he could send me? I'd like to make sure I can load them correctly.

Thanks!
Targhan/Arkos.

Hey Targan, if you don't find any publicly, maybe you could ask Leonard directly, for example files i may have produced in this format. :)

Thanks for the YM, I have checked them, but none is YM4... I'll ask Leonard directly, but in the meantime if someone knows he has YM4 files, I'd be useful to me. Thanks!

I've just checked the ST Sound sources, the YM parser simply doesn't support YM4 files ("use YM5/6 instead"). So I guess that's why no YM4 seems to have been released.

I have found this document:
http://www.vorc.org/document/YM3456.htm

This document should be saved\mirrored or added to a central repository for YM info.
I have copied it to my site just incase.

The document describes YM5 format and says the YM4 is obsolete now.
Still got, still working: Atari 4Mb STe, 520STFM, 2.5Mb STF.
Hardware: Cumana CSA 354, Ultimate Ripper, Blitz Turbo, Synchro Express II (US and UK Versions).

Thanks. YM4 is obsolete, indeed, but I still wanted to be sure I decoded it correctly, hence the need of YM files.
