Just wondering what a midi coding partner request is doing in the Atari graphics requests?

i relized that after i posted,
sorry,,
this new forum kinda stinks ,

we should just put every thing all in one area...and then sift or search upon usage..
all recent activity would be at top ,all old at bottom , then persearve older stuff on a ftp,in text form...but i am no pro with pc
just atari....

if i'm in one of these "catogories" i sometimes forget which feild i'm in ...then i reply to whatever the last title was in the header , i forgot i was in graphics and saw ..."requests"....

lost in the higherarchiecy?????????/

by the way how come coding does not have a request area???

good ideals gone sour ....i'm all over the place asking for a comrad but no takers.....now

i just been sitting here waiting for a mod to move me thread somewhere ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

where i do not know....?????

Moved topic to correct place (Coding)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Hello Charles!
What kind of apps are you think of? . . . . . I recall reading you were toying with MROS, hows that going? Have you turned up many/any! docs?

What kind of outboard hardware do you use? Are you intending of writing software/drivers for these?

What background do you have with existing software? (What do you use?!)

well its going pretty good since i am only a one man team.
i wrote a patch editor for the yamaha pss synthesizer and it taught me a couple more "secerts" about midi data....

no documentation, it all needs to be learnt first hand , "on the job" as the say ,,or maybe by luck ..it really is a language all of its own , with neumerous encoded parts and program
router which decipher and route all this encoded data.....

raw data from a synth being played ,is differrent than system exclusive data , so there is a prime example right there of passing parameters in a number of different forms...

yes still toying with the ideal of mros , but not yet developing ..or have any more knowlegde
..keeping busy thought....!!!

outboard hardware,,regular stuff, cubase ,freestyle, startrek, edit track....dongles and midex and old akai sample,,yamaha pss 480...

i jumped the track from the mros experiment to develop the restructure of the pss editor, before that i made a gui for nutron's lead-r waveform(a.k.a==ali reza) genarator and rewrote alot of the code to attach the graphics to it,,,

I HAD TO LEARN PASCAL OPPS WERE DID THESES COME FROM????/ thats better...
i learnt pascal in the past year and a half
and
now because alot of the hybrid arts stuff was written in forth , i should follow closely to their footsteps...heh eheh and learn forth as well....... another year and a half i suspect!!!

but to say the least its hard to believe in the first place all i desired was to write a akai s-900 sample maker and dumper...what happened ??its been couple years and i got some results ,,so i think the next project will be a s-900 dumper or combine alot of the midi song genaroting codes i've written
into one shell
and have a huge self writer
for midi songs,,,

what you been doing , is this similar to items of interest for you?

Delving into MROS at somepoint soon is a thought!
I use Cubase , Flex and Octalyser/Protracker.

Not to spoil your fun, I do b elieve there is a s900/s1000 sample transfer soft somewhere, as well ZeroX can do this.
I don't think there are any Midi editors for the Akai's, I think thats where i'm heading. Also searching for XG software?
And long term maybe creating some customisible software to edit Akai/XG/VZ1/Korg sound engines though that might be further away. . . . .
Unless I can buy one some where i'll try to make a MultiMIDI out!? technical diagrams anyone?

Think thats my lot for the moment.

i k new there are nuemerous s-900 dumpers for sysex out there but i wanted to write my own , zero -x is not really an option as i have couple good sample editors as it stands...

i just wanted to implement couple factors into sample making and learn about its protocol..

ashley get rid of gfa for midi , if you can use asm then why gfa ?
gfa was kinda slow and formed bad habits for me ,
what have you got made any how in gfa ?
any good developments..
its easy and fool proof but i like pascal even though half my stuff is written in gfa....

so i will leave off here
if any trades or ideal sharing is appropriate please feel free to"deal" ask or whatever you have in mind...go ahead we should work together on this.

GFA I'll use the term 'finished' in a i have finished with it rather than anything else way.
Some stuff even the people at Area51 are having trouble decoding.
A text adventure!
A couple of intros? For Chaos PD! (Hi Ben!)
A very non impressive 1 screen demo!
The asm was mainly on ! PC! As Pascal, (Did use Personal Pascal on the st.
Reading up ST asm atm.

Does your psr480 have General MIDI? or almost GM?

yes allmost general midi,,,,16 channels
one drum channel=16......
first five channels 1-5 programmable for fm synthesis
and the other 6-15 use the internal souonds 0-99 of the yamaha

patch changes can be used via real time just like gm too, but its not mapped to memory like gm,,,,i think gm has 127 diff sounds this only has 0-99 but with the five programmable it is 0-104.....so good over all for a midi contoller and and synth..

anybody know how to record songs on the pc to wav or aiff or mp3?
i got couple thinks i should upload i made but only have a 4 track taper?
what canbe done?
