Is This Possible...

Postby TetsueoTux » Sat Jul 03, 2004 12:58 pm

I'm curious to know if it would be at all possible to duplicate an atari motherboard, and if so what tools and rescources would be needed.

I also wanted to know if it's possible to reconfigure a pc motherboard to act like an atari ste motherboard.

I know these are probably silly questions to ask, but since its getting harder to find the original hardware it would be cool if we could make our own. :D

ummm no idea but no-one really wants to when emulators are so good (and cheap).

However, for nutters like you (??) have a look for the Coldfire Atari Project :P

Arg.

If you really want to do that you need a full documentation of the original motherboard. Because if you dont have it you gonna have to do retro ingeniery... it is quite difficult.

Then you gonna need a software to design your new board, with all components, tracks... You will have to take care of high frequency constraint and so on ...

Then you gonna need professional tools to create the board.

The cost will be BIG !

forget it

You don't even need the box, just the matches. McGuyver rules!

Possible yes... do you want to do it is another question - also all the equipment you would need would cost a fortune..

May be better trying to repair dead ones rather than building them from nothing...
