Mega ST : Using it vertical style

Postby dma » Tue Jan 15, 2019 8:19 am

I was wondering if anyone would have experience of using a Mega ST positioned vertically for a long time.

Would there be any problem when using it this way ?
I guess the only subject could be about moving parts, of the floppy drive then.
But floppy drives were used vertically in a number of machines, so it may not be problematic.

So if anyone got knowledge or advice on this, i would be gladly interested. :)

I would make sure that the PSU is at the top to minimize internal heating, but other than that I don't see what harm it would do.
Updated my guides as of june 28th, 2016. Check'em out and feedback!

I found a minor issue with my megas stored that way. They would not boot up properly as some chips got a bit loose during the years. Opening and gently pressing them back in bit helped each time here. This is likely a general issue though, just was more obvious in case of the megas.
