Convert any joypad to Atari

Postby BlankVector » Fri Oct 12, 2018 4:29 pm

Here is how I converted a Super Nintendo joypad to Atari, 26 years ago. Spoiler: by soldering wires. This brutal technique can be easily applied to any joypad/joystick.

That is an honor for Nintendo: to be an active part of the Atari legend.
Great job.
Regards.

Yes, this technique can work on any joypad/joystick :)
You just have to find the best points to solder the wires. And maybe remove some integrated chips, if that can make soldering easier.

But nowadays, it is probably best to first have a look on web shops to see if there is a cheap, ready-to-use adapter which already does the job, without butchering the controller.

Thx once more for the idea ! :)
Unfortunately it seems buttons A, B and C of the jagpad are multiplexed on the same pin so it won't be compatible ...
But now i can have a cheap 6 action buttons for my STE !! :D
