There are some modern adaptors that can translate standard modern mouse communications so that the Atari ST/STFM/STE (etc.) machines can be used with them. But these will not work with Joysticks.
Similarly, there are adaptors that let you use standard modern keyboards. But anything else is unlikely to work, as the adaptors are only programmed to translate normal keyboard communication data.
