Postby Chandler » Thu May 24, 2018 8:45 pm

Does anyone have the original ST version disks/s ? :)

I don't mind copies of the original ST disk/s or download

no emulator versions

You can get it from Gribnifs Software.

EDIT: You probably already knew that.

Neodesk 4 Release 005 - Unknown.MSA

this is the most 'recent' disk release I have, all the v4 versions I've got are single disk.

also, the download on the Gribnif site is an .ST image, so it's also in atari format.

It looks like you can use JayMSA (http://jaysoft.atari.org) to extract the files from the MSA archive. You will need to copy the MSA file to your Atari before using JayMSA. Once you have extracted the files, you can copy them to floppy disks. If you do not have a hard drive for your ST, I am assuming it would be more challenging.

I tend to use MSA Converter (Windows program - http://msaconverter.free.fr/index-uk.html) to get to the original files inside of an MSA or ST archive.

Unfortunately, I cannot help you with creating the disks. I have not had a floppy disk drive for about 10 years. Hopefully, someone can help you out,

do you have a USB floppy drive ? the image is just files, that'll fit on a 720k disk, no special format needed. copy them to a folder on your PC/etc using Steem, then copy them to a disk using your OS

if not, PM me ypur address and I'll chuck it on a floppy disk, i might not be able to post it till thursday though, working away early next week.

You don’t need .ST or similar to achieve that. Download from Gribnif’s page the newest Neodesk, unpack the archive on the PC. Then insert a floppy into the PC, format it. Copy over the files. The Atari can read PC formatted floppies, so you can easily transfer the files.
