What is that ROM PORT peripheral?

Seems to be an interface for this bus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe_Card_Bus
IIRC it was a DIY project of the German c't magazine. At least the small yellow PCB at the left hand end of the flat-ribbon cable is a ROM-Port buffer. Useful to protect the ST and for extending the port's signals.
