Postby shugs81 » Sat Nov 04, 2017 1:18 pm

Hey peeps...

Just a quickie....

Am I being stupid?? Am I making it up???

Also if not what serial thingy should I get?? Ta!

Well no one was using or responding to this guys question, so I will steal his thread.

I have built a cable as per viewtopic.php?t=26656

I was also reading a thread where it was talked about trying to use 1 gotek for 2 drives.

I am having the issue that with the above cable I cannot use any drive on the external - except on a 520st where it is the only drive.

I assume this has to do with the drive select lines? 12 and 14? in the above cable they are both wired up because the HxC has jumpers that can bypass it? or in combonation with the firmware it gets it?

I am using flash floppy... SO.. if I disconnect line 12.. will I be good to go?

just as the other thread viewtopic.php?f=15&t=31290 when I have it hooked up to the 520ST I see the same content in both A and B without getting the insert warning.

If I move the S0 jumper to S1 I cannot get the 520ST to boot. So the signal from the jumpers means SOMETHING. What about a little switch that would connect line 12 if I wanted it to be A drive, or disconnect if I wanted B drive? (and change the S0 to S1) is that all I have to do here?

Here is a video on how to update the firmware with a USB cable. Fairly sure that this method does not work for the HxC firmware update though.
