UltraSatan Second SD Card to transfer data between PC and Atari STE

Postby PilgrimSTE » Mon Oct 09, 2017 11:18 am

Hi all,

I wonder if someone cloud help.

I have a pre-formatted SD Card which is running in UltraSatan Slot 1.
I would like to have a second SD Card which should be used to transfer data between the PC and the Atari,
so the card should be visible for both systems.

I can partition and format the second SD card with ICDFMT.PRG -> Partition SD Card,
but still it is just visible for the Atari.

Could someone please give an advise on how to setup an SD Card which is visible for both systems?
Thank you in advance!

You need a hard disk driver that understands both Atari format HDD and DOS format HDD.
It does a format called TOD/DOS compatible partition that both atari & PC reads/writes to.
HDDriver and PPera Driver are such drivers.

The card supplied with the UltraSatan uses the ICD PRO drivers which only handle / understand the native Atari HDD format, so there is no facility on your present setup which will allow it to read or write to a second, DOS formatted card.

As wongck said, you need to use some other driver to gain the ability to read from / write to DOS formatted cards as well as Atari formatted ones.
