Guess whats cooking today #1

Postby mpattonm » Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:07 am

Basic design parameters:

110/230V AC input
2.4A@5V and 2A@12V output
82% calculated efficiency
very low heat dissipated, no heatsing and/or fan required.
very low output voltage ripple for maximum system stability
direct "plug&play" to your Atari STF/FM/E/MegaST/Megafile and stock Falcon, basically anyone can install in a seconds
enough power on 12V rail to power 2 desktop 3,5" HDDs or similar devices within your setup
EN 61000-6-3 compliant
very low weight
low cost

Current stage: prototype completed

If these will power a stock Falcon 030, then I will be interested in one. What would postage be to Australia for an assembled one?

Thats one of the goals. I hope you will not be dissapointed.

Honestly, I am not really convinced to sell a DIY kit this time. While I understand this would be fun project for someone, I would on the other hand lose controll over build quality and it would be very difficult for me to deal with possible claims, failures and support requests.

Awesome. :) Apart from the obvious features (complete with metal case!), can you make some comparison to Exxos's PSU? I don't mean it as a flamebait of course, I just don't know a thing about PSUs so it's hard to decide what are pros and cons of each.
