3) Are there any video or sound artefacts, e.g. ghosting, mouse trails, or similar?

I can solder but I'm not very good when it comes to electronics theory, so will only be able to build from easy to follow diagrams and components if they are available.

My previous efforts at getting such a video connection working only got as far as this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=17153

1: no, it needs to be a monitot that cn display the STs low refresh rate. not all VGA monitors can do this.
2: yes, assuming you get a monitor that can do ST low. nearly all VGA monitors can do ST High
3: in my experience, no. I have one of the adapters and have used it with a few monitors, and it's exceptional quality :)

Ah, so this is not quite exactly what I was looking for, I'm looking for a modern replacement for my SC1435 (one that I can easily buy off the shelf, as it were, and replace when needed).

Besides the forum post I already linked to, does anyone know of a working solution that doesn't have any artefacts or ghosting etc for ST Low on any VGA monitor?

I have found this list for 'modern' VGA 15khz:

http://15khz.wikidot.com/

but, i have launch research in distributor monitor =>17" max price 200 euro end user.
Not exist, i have check over 200 monitors type/model. the minimum is 24Khz.

Now the solution is use scan doubler. Any use this solution ?

Thanks

Hi,

I found why i have many problem of stability.
The 12V on DIN 13 it's very limited in current, in schematic of 1040STE the 12V is in serial with 1.2K resistor, the max current is 12/1200 = 10mA.
With led, the current is to big.

I have started this project because the assembly cable on web (eBay) is many cost expansible (normal, very long job to wiring the connector) and only Monochrome.

I simplify all, i remove AVR (and led) and replace by simple switch, i lost function of storage the last state, but is not important for my.

Thanks
Olivier

I think I mentioned just that. :)

However, if you run it in 1MHz, with some changes to the detection, you’d probably be able to use the LEDs.

BTW, if you remove the attiny you’ll lose the functionality of switching in software.

but i replace the AVR by switch.

I move away from the original idea, but the result is the same in the end, I can go from color to monochrome.

Of course they exist. The problem is that manufacturers do not specifically mention 15kHz in their datasheets, because this frequency is out of VGA spec. So even those LCDs positively known to sync down to 15kHz (see viewtopic.php?f=15&t=32243&p=334426) simply do not declare this feature in their specifications.

Nah. Wating for a new revision. Ought to turn up next week. And after that one has been confirmed it’s another week for ordering a full batch plus components.

That’s a new one. Hires is as close to VGA as one can get.

I guess the monitor triggers on the higher vertical refresh rate? Kind of odd indeed, it's usually the opposite.

I have never in all my years seen a monitor that does that

you deserve a prize or something

I want to say the adapter is broken because this is so impossible

I made other adapters:
Monochrome / color switch:
MCSwitch - LR.jpg

Monochrome only:
Monochrome Adapter - LR.jpg

and the problem is the same.
If I plug in another screen it works.

wow, that looks great! If you sell these I will definitely buy one

I wonder why the monitor can't recognize high res mode? Very strange

That looks absolutely great. It is kind of worrisome to me that some 3D printers have such a wide range of quality. Yours looks nice, some of the other ones I've seen, not so great. But then again part of it might be the way the model is designed, I'm sure 3D printing only handles certain methods very well at this point.

Atari STs: 1040STf (broken shifter), 1040STe, Mega STe, TT030, Falcon (CT60e, SuperVidel)

I use Da Vinci 1.0A from XYZprinting. It's plug and play printer, no time to loose for assembly the printer.
It's not perfect printer, but a this price is good. Just the price of ABS cartridge, but sometime i found at lower price.
My brother as Ultimaker 3, the printing is very more good, but the price is 7x more.

For the test, I ordered an e10 from Anet, it's a pre-assembled machine, 325 euro in europe with 3kgr of PLA.
I waiting next week.

For resolve warping i use Dima 3D from Dimafix, it's perfect.

Thanks
