Btw I recently heard that there were some problems with NetUSBee and accelerated Falcons. If this is the case then this could be a problem for me, as three of these four adapters will be used on accelerated Falcons... (2x Afterburner at 36-40MHz and one BlowUP-FX at 40Mhz).

I'll take 2. What is the ETA for the finished product. Are there any software issues that need to be resolved to utilize the HYDRA? :D

Yeah, I guess we haven't heard from djbase in a little while. If nothing happens, then I'll do EtherNEC's come September.

what about adding an address range so tos can be ported across maybe to a single 8mb flash eeprom chip
for three versions and a buffer zone
maybe an st wide version of the internal flash popsel and ppera did for st_fm
on the cart port only :contract:
ie add an 8mb rom to the lan port adapter

would sell well i feel  but maybe just to developers
tos flash over lan... [smilie=greencolorz4_pdt_12.gif]

just a thought!! :)
would help me making a hdd driver added direct to tos and removing the floppy controller chip
to reuse its signals as i rattled on about before ...

I'd buy one. Then I could init the graphics card and Afterburner in TOS. Even 128Kb flash would be great for this.

Not sure I follow this at all.

You have 128K of addressable space via the ROM port. So there's no way you are going to be able to directly address an 8mb flash eeprom directly without bank switching which ain't going to work for TOS without some heavy patching. And that just sucks.

Not even sure how that correlates to hdd drivers and removal of the floppy disk controller chip either.

im sorry you dont see what i mean

the usual way is to at boot read a small loader app
that loads over the new tos to the internal eeproms on the fly
from the cart port

as per pperas and popsels mod even tos 2 via cart uses this approch
but added addressed boot loaded tos 2mb image
is possible to pass to internal eeprom
it can be transfered in 128k blocks if you first load a loader at boot

sorry m8 its a cart port its checked first
so it makes sense to load any tsr or dtsr drivers from a small 64kb segment
this triggers other loads and actions

afterall its a cart port

rom 3 4 5 etc can be controlled after qualification per level of boot...
and this type of tsr is used and reused by many

yes please but adds to an internal 8mb eeprom stack

so i can b4 if i want in atari or via network
'net stack dial a tos'
and also it must trigger a reset on flash...via the trigger app cart boot block

i also like the network!!!!! i need this extenssion to this nice unit ...!!!

maybe make two versions
one for developers one for the bhoys

Maybe you mean a boot selector so you can download different versions of TOS before actually booting TOS over the network ?

Oh, it seems you mention an 8mb flash chip for TOS to be flashed to.

That ain't gonna happen without internal modifications which is really outside the scope of the EtherNEC device.

yes to flash to internal 8mb eeprom {16bit data}
otherwise the tos isnt protable except via net add...

thanks alan for being patient with my request
and to analyse correctly what im saying
