Anodyne cdaudio mp3

Postby JoeAtari » Sun Dec 17, 2017 6:34 am

I remember at some point I could use the cdaudio.prg that comes with Anodyne's Extendos to record .mp3 files to disk from a CD. I think that I may need to set an environment variable for the lame encoder or something like that. My old documentation is all packed away, and I'm not finding anything on my hard drive or online to help. When I launch the program I only have options for AVR WAV and AIF.

Thanks!

CDaudio only writes files in the AVR, WAV and AIF formats. If you created MP3s on an Atari, you must have used another program to record them or (more likely) to convert from the recorded AIF/AVR/WAV to MP3. Maybe Aniplayer (I know it can convert from MP3s, but I don't know if it can convert to MP3s).

There used to be a Lame port for MiNT at some time. You probably used that. It would have been quite slow though. It would take quite a few hours to encode a file.

Yes, I have used Aniplayer to convert files to .mp3. This is probably what I was thinking of.

Thanks!
