uip-tool / hd-driver / 3mb+ files

Postby mzry » Thu Nov 10, 2016 9:07 am

Just wondering,

Does anyone know of any issues transfering 3mb+ files using netusbee, uiptool and hddriver. I'm trying to copy over large zip files of between 3-6mb, but when they get on to the Atari they don't unpack. Whatever software I try will either say 'corrupted' or 'not known type'. I've tried F-Depacker and STzip. I've even downloaded PKZip on my PC for max compatibility with STzip, and I also tried a TAR file but still nothing.

Also when I transfer the ultimate doom wad file over (not zipped or anything) it doesn't work with Badmood either, says bad pnames. I'm wondering if that files been corrupted during the transfer too.

Any thoughts?

I would have thought you would've been okay with that version, although there are newer version 9 and now 10 has not been out long.

I had a similar problem when I was using ICD and HDDriver 8.13, after trying those and then switching to ppera's latest driver the problem went away.

Try packing your files with WinRAR using default settings (.zip) and unpack with STzip. That should never give you any problem using the latest Hddriver. Also make sure no ip stack is loaded.

ST-ZIP might not support newer comperession modes that packer on PC uses. Try using deflate or no compression at all.

Yes, st-zip is not a good option since long time ( due to those compatibility issues regarding compression modes )
I use unzip.ttp ( attached ) for years now and did not have any problems with it so far.

( whoa, I could not attach unzip.ttp directly as it complained about not proper extension )
