Never knew that either. Will have to try that out. Wonder if its limited to any particular TOS versions ?

Works on on TOS 1.62 and the article was snapped from a very early ST mag pre-dating the STE

It worked on my old STFM with 1.4 IIRC. I used to use this to extract an SFX archive from one disk to a ramdisk, without copying it across first. Hold right click while double clicking a program in a background window, and it executes with the working directory of the foreground window. At least I think that's how it worked, it's been almost 20 years [emoji14]

That tip stirs a long distant memory fragment in my brain... :lol:

So I think I have come across it a long time ago, but then forgotten it :mrgreen:

Yep, read about that trick from Antic magazine. You need to do that since redrawing GEM windows, even with the Blitter on, is so slooooooooooooow.....
