Please try providing complete information. I believe there was another crucial debug information that you left out.

Alright, the second data pin seems to be stuck at logical 1 for some reason. If you're sure it's the same on both your Atari computers then it could indeed be PARCP-USB 's fault. In such case please send it to me and I'll check it and fix.

It's been failing due to a bad solder joint on data pin 1. It's been working OK for a month or so but then, probably due to mechanical stretching when plugging/unplugging the PARCP-USB adapter to your Atari computers the solder joint failed to work properly. My bad. Glad I could fix it for you. Never happened before, will be more careful when soldering next adapters.

I've been using Parcp-usb for quite a long time now under Tos, but never managed to get it working under Mint.
I get the following message :
"Error opening terminal:tw100
Falling back to atari ST VT52 emulation"
I read the following instructions on the parcp page :

For use with PARCP-USB you want to configure your udev rule so you can then run PARCP as a regular user. Copy the following snippet into your /etc/udev/rules.d/ directory and name the file say parcp.rules. Then you need to trigger your udev to reload the rules using sudo udevadm trigger:

######### begin of parcp.rules #######
# PARCP-USB
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="03eb", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"
######### end of parcp.rules #########

But i'm not really sure what to do, i'm a total Mint noob.

I would need to use it under Mint because of long files names.

Any ideas ?

That's strange. I was using it under FreeMiNT quite often, less than a year ago, with minimal setup changes. Have you tried any of the recent setups from https://freemint.github.io/#snapshots ?

Also, the udev part applies to Linux, not FreeMiNT.

I think there are missing entries in the TERMINFO for your terminal. It seems you use Toswin2, IRC there is not tw100 (Toswin vt100 implementation) in the TERMINFO by default.

install ncurses library from Vincent: ttp://vincent.riviere.free.fr/soft/m68k ... t/ncurses/
Then there should be all definitions of Toswin2 terminals tw52 and tw100 in /usr/share/terminfo

I assume the ncurses library used in PARCP tries to switch to tw100 in order to get ASCII semi-graphics characters to draw the boxes in ParShell. I didn't know tw100 wasn't included in TosWin2. Wondering if a fallback to vt100 could be included there.

I downloaded the file with the link you provided, but where should i put that ? Sorry for all these questions, but Mint is a bit overwhelming for beginners
I would like to use Scummvm, but I can't even copy the files correctly from my pc with parcp-usb under Tos, because some files names are too long :D

What if you run PARSERVE.TOS under MiNT? Does it also complain about missing tw100? I guess it will not so that would be one way how to work around it.

 Yes in fact I just did, I had only extracted the parserve executable from the archive on my PC, and the Atari client files on my Falcon.
It was one year ago, and did not have the idea to look into the archive since then.

Silly me !

I prefer using the server on the Atari and the Client on the PC because this combination is much faster than vice versa, the user interface runs much smoother on PC.

Right, it is a good idea to run the client on the faster machine (which PC compared to ST usually is), but you are still free to run it on the machine where you're currently sitting at (imagining room full of interconnected computers with monitors and chairs in front of them where you can pick up any machine to start working :-)
