Atari ST Plus Picture Viewer 1.15 (a Windows viewer)

Postby bjw66 » Tue Nov 27, 2012 3:04 am

I have just wrapped up a new version of my viewer. Here are the changes compared to the previous version.

  • Added support for .PCS images created by the new PhotoChrome 5, while remaining backwards compatible with the already supported older .PCS images.
  • Added support for 24-bit .IMG files.
  • Added support for Art Director (.ART), including animated ones.
  • Added support for Canvas (.CNV, .CPT).
  • Added support for dealing with multiple distinct palette animation ranges in DEGAS Elite files.
  • Added support for DelmPaint (.DEL, .DPH).
  • Added support for DuneGraph (.DC1, .DG1, .DGC, .DGU).
  • Added support for Enhanced Simplex (.ESM).
  • Added support for FuckPaint (.PI4, .PI9).
  • Added support for GemFrac Bitmap (.GFB).
  • Added support for Multi Palette Picture (.MPP).
  • Added support for overscanned and underscanned DEGAS uncompressed low-resolution images (.PI1).
  • Added support for Prism Paint / TruePaint (.PNT, .TPI).
  • Added the option to have the user choose a resolution when Atari ST Plus Picture Viewer has to guess.
  • Better .IMG detection.
  • Better .NEO detection.
  • Better .PI1/.PI2/.PI3 detection.
  • Better .SSB detection.
  • Fixed: 1-bit IMG-XIMG and 2-bit IMG-HYPERPAINT images were not handled correctly.
  • Fixed: CrackArt (.CA1, .CA2, .CA3) was not in the "All supported formats" file filter.
  • Fixed: Scrolling on a zoomed image sometimes did not display the last 1 or 2 lines/columns.
  • Fixed: When changing the palette affected the number of unique colours, the status bar was not updated.
  • Fixed: When loading an image from the command line or (after setting the file association) by double-clicking, most of the status bar would be empty.
  • LZ77 (ray/.tSCc.) detection and decompression now works for all image types.
  • And a few more things.

The viewer is attached below and can also be downloaded directly from my website. Please read the included AtariSTPlusPicView.txt first either by opening it in a text editor or simply by selecting Help from within my viewer.

Enjoy!

Thanks.
it is really a great program, i much rather have a program like this, then converting (ruin) the original picture.

one thing, it could really be nice if the program had a auto zoom function, so that it zoom the picture to the size of the window.

Very nice, thank you!

A zoom function would be cool, indeed!

Thank you all (including Scarlettkitten) for your nice words.

I know that this is not exactly what you asked for, but the View menu already offers the option to set the default zoom to 50%, 100%, 200%, or 400% of the original size. You could always set it to 200% or 400% and run it full-screen.

I do take all suggestions seriously, but, with the limited free time I have to work on this project, I have to prioritise. And I have to admit that there are many things higher on my list than this particular feature. But I will not forget the suggestion. It might just take some (more) time.

Thanks again.

No two are exactly the same picture cycles
the last two equal 1 (no rotation)
