OS-9 is a multitasking O/S that mainly ran on the TRS-80 Color Computers but it looks like there is an OS9-68000 version for the Atari ST made. I found it recently and thought someone here might find it interesting.
Hi, I would dearly like to get the disk images listed on that link as well -- I had previously archived them, but I had a little "accident" backing up this week, and I've lost them. The site is completely gone as of Sept. 2012.
I have successfully been able to install this on to my 1040STE. Does anyone know if documentation exists - the install comes with everything needed to do development on C, but no docs. Also, does anyone know if any of the windowing systems (G-Windows, K-Windows, MGR) exist for the Atari version? In the 80 and now I used OS9 on the Tandy Color Computer, so this experience has helped in getting this up an running. I will post instructions, if anyone is interested in what I did.
im also interested, had a dragon 64 during the 80's, ran os9 6809 on that it was quite awesome multitasking on an 8 bit cpu with only 64 k of ram am now running nitro-s9 on the co-co emulator, recently got hold of a non working 1040stfm got it working now and would like to see how os9 performs on a 68000 cpu
OK, so the ZIP archive has some corrupted disk images, and of course it's the MGR disks. They are a window system for the Atari OS9 68K, so does anyone know where I could get uncorrupted versions of the disks. It's about half of them. I have successfully installed and setup a hard dirve, which is exciting.
OK, so I over came the corrupt files, but now I'm running into the cio traphandler mismatch with the startmgr command. Seem like the OS is at a v2.3 and the Mgr code is compiled against v2.4. So now I'm stuck until I can cover come the incompatible cio module - anyone have an idea of how to get over that?
