echo "Specified device doesn't look like correct SD card"

Many thanks Guys, I've got it booting to Genesis, Speccy & C64.

Also, I received my PCBs today. 8 days from order to goods received (China to the UK) so I'm VERY happy with the service I received for Seeed Studio.

Ok, just tried the zx spectrum core successfully. Some minor issues, but I want to make sure I can reproduce it. Overall working good!
BTW it would be good to clearly note in the README.md files on Github cores repositories in he description if core requires the extra memory board or not.

There is special SD installer utility for Windows in the work by my friend. So, it will be much easier to make and update the SD card.

@toromand:
script is for USB devices. You could use any USB card reader.

For testing purpose may be it's worth to mention the cores not requiring the SDRMA board, but in general SDRAM board is required. There is no intention to promote MiSTer without SDRAM board due to only few possible cores.

I have now successfully build the SDRAM and IOBoard. Unfortunatly, the VGA pcb pinout for the high density connector is not always the same. The VGA connectors i have ordered from ebay do not fit the PCB layout of the IO Board :( the upper and lower row of the connector are switch. just wanted to let you guys know, so you dont do the same mistake as I.

However the SDRAM Boards and the rest of the IO Boards work great!

can you post a clear pictures of VGA connector you've ordered?
Need to understand how to spot the differences visually.

It was much easier to edit the script adding couple of 'p' letters for me :)

It says "6 TI-H" on the Bottom and "530BB" on the Back. Nothing really identifiable. I've got them from here:

I tried to solder the pins to the right pads but i get an error from the Monitor that the frequency is out of range. unfortunatly, I dont have a scope here, so I have to wait a little bit longer to investigate further.

the main difference is at back. There is no recess on the back as on your connector.

I've edited my earlier posts with links. Only visually same connectors are left there.

Just to update the "statistics".. All three cores (Speccy, c64, and Genesis) are working fine on my nano board and my HDMI Samsung TV with a generic USB gamepad. (actually it's two gamepads on one USB cable)

Now waiting for the PCBs to solder some chips!

Can someone share standard VGA footprint for Altium Designer? Then i will try to re-layout I/O board with standard VGA connector.

I don't have a VGA connector part for Altium Designer (since I can't afford their horrendous price model) but I've created a library for you in EAGLE. I know that Altium can import EAGLE .lbr files, maybe you could give that a try: Altium Documentation

Digikey has a huge selection of VGA connectors which fit that footprint: Digikey

i've got footprint for this VGA conne tor:

it should be pretty generic. I found the same connector even in my spare junk box :)

i've made new version of I/O Board. This is really huge connector - i had to squeeze hard into current board size.
I will get the boards at the end of week. If it will be ok, then i will release it.

I'm not sure if someone actually mentioned that, but I am experiencing some background noise in zxspectrum core. It starts after booting the core and you press a key to produce a 'click" sound. It sounds like a "bad ground" buzz and it disappears when the sound is actually playing and getting back when it's not. (HDMI) (No RAM Board) (latest files from Github, 0712)

I will, this afternoon, and post a YouTube link. (got to do the daily job now :)
BTW do you want reports about the Genesis core and the games that work, that don't, and the ones that "almost work" with some interesting glitches? Maybe a separate thread?

You can try, but i'm not a Genesis developer, actually. It's very unlikely i will fix serious problems as i'm not familiar with Genesis HW.
