Mist FPGA64 core/disk flip

Postby ericgus » Sat Apr 07, 2018 8:37 am

Have any of the recent c64 cores addressed the disk flip detection on MIST (not talking about MiSter and its cores, just "classic" MiST)

(I know various folks have made contributions to fixing random issues here and there, I just didnt know if disk flip detection been resolved on any of the cores released for C64/Mist)

Specifically im talking about demo's like "Wonderland XII - by Censor" seems to get stuck waiting for disk-flip after disk 1 completes..

Can anyone give this demo a shot and see if they encounter the same issue..

Thanks!

It doesn't work. I advise against using C64 MiST core to watch demos.
Better the real machine, C64 Reloaded mk2, Ultimate 64, Chameleon 64 or an emulator like VICE.

One big drawback with MiST is no central repository so trying to find the latest core can be a real pain. :?

Try mtfong's core. I don't know if it has all the latest updates, but it's the only one I found disk swap works.

With mtfong's core swap disk routine works, but always some demo parts are missed and third disk doesn't work.

Better use a real machine.

Thanks ill give it a try ..

Yea I realize that the core is imperfect and that some of the demos may not work or may not work properly, I was really just curious if the disk change issue had been fixed with one of the myriad of cores released .. (yea its hard to keep track these days)

Thanks for the replies!

EDIT: Yup it works .. thanks!

Tested but disk swap doesn't work as due.
Anyway thanks Gehstock.

Did you try the fix from the update that mtfong did {which I believe he got from the mister core}..

Also Lotherek might be able to fix your Mist.. ??

Thanks for giving it a try! .. I appreciate your efforts!
