From Konami hardware, I didn't realize that Power Surge was released 11 days ago:

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... Surge_MiST

Traverse USA, more known as Zippy Race in consoles :D

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... seUSA_MiST

New updates on Bagman hardware:

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... 20Hardware

and Guzzler from Tehkan:

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... T/Snapshot

4 days ago, first test release of Bomb Jack :D was released:

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... omb%20Jack

Yesterday Rally-X was released by Gesthock!

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... ST/Release

Survival, an arcade from 1982 also has been released:

https://github.com/Gehstock/Mist_FPGA/t ... vival_MIST

Thanks very much for your great work!

Gehstock is doing much and great work on new cores and he's updating older ones from time to time. I'm doing some support to him with testing his (new/updated) cores to see if they're working with YPBPR and to report conspicuities he might missed.

:megaphone: Overall, his repository is very worth to visit regularly. Many gems there!
On the other side of the screen, it all looks so easy.

It hangs in boot screen.

Traverse USA, more known as Zippy Race in consoles :D

Works perfect!

Games I've tested seem to work well.

It works! :D but no sound.

4 days ago, first test release of Bomb Jack :D was released:

Graphics missing. Still not playable but

Yesterday Rally-X was released by Gesthock!

Game hangs in few seconds.

Also, I've noticed that OSD on Defender is wrong, is rotated when it's an horizontal game.

Thanks for your work again, Gehstock!

Power Surge Lacks the Protection there is only a Snapshot. Same for Survival and Cannonball.

Traverse USA, Perfect because is done by Slingshot.

Guzzler and Swimmer Lacks Background and some Sprites. And the Same Sound Board.

Bomb Jack need a Lot of Work.

Rally X is Working for me except Music needs a fix.

Hello,

I've just released VHDL source code for Kick (Kickman) for de10_lite board.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/darfpg ... k_kickman/

Not sure it will fit MiST board.

As usual bring your own roms.
Feel free to port to MiST/MiSTer.

Fine.

(Gehstock it's amazing how fast you are. Should'nt you be sleeping at that time ? ) Anyway, good job. I think this could be a new basis for some others MCR games.

Hello,

I've just released Satans Hollow hardware VHDL code for DE10_lite.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/darfpg ... re%20VHDL/

Maybe some freeze in attract sccreen.
I'am going to see if Tron also freezes.

Bring your own roms and feel free to port to MiST and MiSTer.

Enjoy.

I've just released a beta version of Tron for DE10_lite.

There is no freeze, but there is one annoying problem : during tank mini game, fire button is not working. Moving is possible but no firing. Fire button is ok within every other mini games. I've spend a few hours to find out where is the problem but didn't succeed . Anyone can help by finding under Mame where is the fire routine within Tron Z80 program during tank mini game. I've found where are the fire routines (in a,($00) and test for bit 2**4 ) in 2 games out of 4 but failed for the 2 others (read button and test are @2E7C-2E84 for rotary mini game, @6145-614E for spiders mini game). Any help is welcome.

Anyway, feel free to port to MiST/MiSTer or just wait for next release (maybe soon or not depending on how long it takes to find the fire routine).

@Darfpga: thanks for implementing these arcade boards. Would it possible to preserve the original interlaced video, too for these higher resolution arcades (and switch between them via an input signal)? Then TVs and VGAs (without scandoubler) could be used as well.

@slingshot : I think it is possible to keep interlaced mode. Do you have in mind a good exemple of VHDL interlaced video scanner ?

I would say look at the fpgagen VDP code, but there are too many extras around it.
Basically what you have to do:
Now you do (in good old BASIC):
FOR vcnt=0 TO 524 : NEXT: do_vsync

What you have to do in interlace:
FOR vcnt=0 TO 524 STEP 2 : NEXT: do_vsync: REM even frames
FOR vcnt=1 TO 524 STEP2 : NEXT : do_vsync: REM odd frames

And if you're using vcnt(0) for reading the sprite/background/etc roms, you'll get the correct data for each frame.
(+pixel clock is halved, so one line takes twice amount of time - 30kHz -> 15kHz hfreq).

For sure you are right, my concern was not about the video content but about the sync signals which have to be designed precisely to obtain 1/2 line displacement between odd and even frames. H and V counters have to manage N + 1/2 line. Let me first fix Tron and I will have a look to that interlaced mode.

Yes, the sync should be started in middle-line (the counting should not change, just the vsync on and off points). However modern TVs with deinterlacers a quite forgiving.

Ok I've fixed that problem but it's too late to deliver for today. I will release that tomorow.
