NEW OR UPDATED ARCADE CORES

Postby vebxenon » Mon Jan 30, 2017 7:59 am

Yes! Galaga arcade now on our MiST board! With sound and standard core menu!

https://github.com/sorgelig/Galaga_MIST ... r/releases

You must to rotate the monitor 90º clockwise, still no rotation.

Hope more arcade cores will be released or fixed

Thanks Sorgelig and Gehstock!

Regards,

Salva

It's not my core.
MiST port has been started by Gehstock. He asked me to fix the video part.
Also i did some code cleanup and refactoring for possible future improvements or code study.

I think, this core will remain 90º turned to keep it compatible with TV signal. Actually it can be used as horizontal shooter ;) Buttons are also adapted for horizontal placement.

Thanks very much! I've corrected the title :) And well, I'm able to rotate my monitor 8)

Galaga - excellent... Thanks to all developers. Does this core work on 15hz and 31khz?

It seems that it is possible to run other games on the same hardware: http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=516

Is it possible to load different roms from the same SD?

WOW! Big thanks on this one!!!

Side edit:
Someone with access should update the first two cores' release dates as 2017 and not 2016 at https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-board/wiki (applies to Galaga and Sega Genesis/Megadrive)

Does Galaga core support USB controller? I can only get the keyboard and db9 joystick to work.

I'm happy to see the MiST is getting more arcade titles.

Thanks

test version with HQ2x scale.
(scale works with 31KHz mode obviously)

I just saw that there are a couple of other FPGA cores annouced at the fpgaarcade forum and I hope we see some of these here as well. For example there is also a Galaga core, is that the same core as here?
Xevious VHDL source code has also been published, http://darfpga.blogspot.de/.
Unfortunately my skills are not sufficient to port cores and I am already a very happy MIST user and very greatful for the great support and number of cores available, so noone should misunderstand my posts...

Hello guys. There is no encryption on this. Read carefully README file, this core make use of external ram ( used to store rom program and graphics). You must implement this ram and load it in some manner. The screen you show means that the graphic character machine is running ok but the microprocessor is stopped or not correctly running.
