MiST - Amiga core and Ethernet

Postby SHIFT838 » Mon Apr 18, 2016 12:11 am

I read in a post late last night here somewhere that the AMIGA core supports Ethernet via a USB ethernet controller?

If this is true can someone elaborate on this?

Thanks,
Chris Schneider

I think it's on Roks/chaos' ToDo list. But i don't know if he already working on this.

I once wrote this tutorial https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-boar ... 0-ethernet for people adding ethernet support to their cores ...

Oh, here we have a dedicated thread for this. Sorry for crossposting, but I think this is the most relevant place. :)

Will the Amiga AGA core support the same ethernet adapter as the ST core; the D-Link DUB-E100?

I would also like to see ethernet support on the amiga core. I have used it on the ST core with a dlink adapter which was ok.

Agreed. While you wouldn't exactly be able to browse the modern web, being able to grab files directly from Aminet or transfer files across the network to the MiST would be useful... Or just to run an IRC client and party like it's '95 :P
Unfortunately the AGA core hasn't been updated in about a year. I hope someone resumes development at some point.

Even calling modern day BBSs via telnet is very do-able as well and what I would love to see with networking support.

For what it's worth, I browse "the web" (amiga sites mostly, aminet) quite a lot with the MiST over the serial link.
