First of all, thanks for the developer for his sustained and devoted work!

Since months this is the only core which is still actively and continously debugged and enhanced.

Tested the latest core (amstrad_170713_r005.8.14.4e.rbf), in 15kHz mode it's just perfect, even the green OSD mode is working well (see screenshot #1).

But in scandoubler enabled mode, it's compatibility is still moderate (see screenshots #2 and #3, 'Nem támogatott üzemmód' means 'Unsupported Format'). Screenshots #1 and #2 taken from my Samsung LE40B650's framebuffer, #3 from my BenQ BL912, which says signal is 800x600@73Hz.

Well, FreeMac still believes in MiST and he still works in improving his core:

https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... es/amstrad

[Amstrad] r005.8.15 : arnoldemu's first FDC tesbench applied.

Core updated 5 days ago.

It's great to see new updates in our still living hardware.

This is one of my favourite cores and I am happy because it have a lot of updates , !

In VGA the core goes at 60Hz and in Scart at 50Hz, is right ? Would it be at 50hz on VGA ?
(perhaps overclock option like the Spectrum core has?)

And I have read that will be able to load CDT , would be nice to see real time tape loading :)

I remember 73Hz, which is a pity, 72 or 75Hz would be much more compatible. But in SCART mode (50Hz) it's awesome!!!

New Update r005.8.16c3 - Z80 instruction timing effort (MEM_slow=slow):

https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... es/amstrad

+Using T80se.T2Write=1 better scores at WinAPE plustest.dsk testbench Z80 instructions timing
+MEM_wr=slow (theory value, quick is a hacked value accelerating MEM_wr)

+Still Rising demo : less garbage pixels, can be run completly using MEM_wr=slow
+Logon's run - 3D meets the aging bits : better, can be run completly using MEM_wr=slow

Another release candidate 4 (amstrad_170918_r005.8.16c4.rbf):

https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... es/amstrad

Instructions using 5T during M1 cycle does need 2 WAIT_n insertion. Problem is that I don't know exactly when inserting them,
Resulting WinAPE plustest.dsk testbench Z80 instructions timing border effect (previous instruction tested saying "I'm incorrect" but it was a correct one)
MEM_wr=slow (theory value, quick is a hacked value accelerating MEM_wr)

Still Rising demo : no more garbage pixels in plasma using MEM_wr=slow
30YMD : you can now use the main menu "cursor" using MEM_wr=slow

New releases! As always, our friend Freemac is working hard on it :)

https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... es/amstrad

A fork of r005.8.16c3 (r005.8.16c4 is invalidated)
A Principe Of Concept applied to correct instruction timing one per one (I just applyed it to 2A instruction, that is them ok under plustest.dsk - "testbench 5")

Removed "MEM_wr:slow|quick" and replaced by "VGA:vram72Hz|scandb50Hz".
scandb50Hz is a merge of a strong very old work (rOO5.0c18 2015) around scandoubler, now I have enougth place to put both implemented (PS : mode TV is still here, see scandoubler in mist.ini)
I don't like personnaly scandoubler with CPC, because it doesn't run fine with basic mode 2.
But as it permits showing the background flying 1943 airplane on "Logon's run - 3D meets the aging bits 2017" demo, it's cool to keep this feature.
It will certainly also permits to progress with graphicals testbenchs also.

+ scandoubler green

It's still in progress, but some would have lot of fun playing with scandb50Hz.

r005.8.16c15 and r005.8.16c16 are the same, c16 is the one with "scandoubler green" implemented on it in fact.

r005.8.16c20 does pass all plustest's 5th testbench, but is not enough mature for me yet.

Yes, this is the only computer core on MiST since a long time which is continuously updated and debugged.

Unfortunately VGA 'vram72Hz' is still 800x600@73.
But 'scandb50Hz' is 720x576@50Hz, this may be a nice option if you have a tolerant display which handles non-standard VGA signals as well.

Anyway, many thanks to the developer who is still working on it!

Ι think I'm plugging in my MiST this weekend for some much-needed love...

If only there was a MegaDrive core... :D

Actually we have a Sega Genesis/Megadrive core already:

https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-bina ... es/fpgagen

It's a beta version with some metastability issues, but most games work on it!

WAT!!!

Please tell me it also does save states :D

Hope I'll try it this weekend thanks so much for the heads up!

As far as I know it does not support save states, and has some graphic glitches also.

Scandb50 works great, thanks so much for the update. I did notice that scanlines don't seem to work in that mode, but that's not a big deal.

It is sort of unfortunate that it has distracted the MiST developer community .. Glad to see Freemac still doing great work..
