Opening *.SON files (Score Perfect)

Postby IoAm » Fri Aug 24, 2018 10:10 am

Hello, everone!
I have been an ATARI user since the early 90's (model MEGA).
Being a musician, I 've been using it in music writing with Score Perfect music notation program (version in german language - I don't know if there was an edition in english...)
When I switched to PC and Sibelius, I ababdoned it.
Now I 'm looking for a way to open my .SON files in Windows 10 (this is years' work and I don't want to lose it...).
For as long as I searched, I couldn't find ScorePerfect for PC, or any other way to open them.
My intention is to save and open my files in *.sib (Sibelius) format.
Any ideas? Has anyone had the same problem?
I 'd appreciate very much.
Thanks in advance

I wonder if the Score Perfect demo version for Windows will be of any help here?

Yeah, it was a rhetorical question, as the demo does not allow to save songs....

"The information is power".
I have provided that link as a first step, that informs that there is that program in different versions (Atari, Mac and PC). It is likely that there is a cracked version for each of the different platforms, he must perform an intensive search.

Let's use the imagination:
1- I have not tried that demo version for PC (that task should be for the interested party), but the most important thing is to check that it loads old files in .SON format regardless of the type of computer that created them.
2 - Although perhaps the demo program can not save those files in other formats, he can take screenshots and at least have a copy in image format of all their old scores. It will always be better than nothing.
3- Assuming that besides loading the .SON file it can also be played as MIDI data, that data could be captured with a sequencer and create a .MID file that would be loaded later with Sibelius or any other current PC or Mac sheet music editor program .
4- I have the honor to keep an original copy of Klaus Kleinbrahm's excellent software, but I am sure there is also a "retouched" version by the MCA boys; in any case I can share it if he asks for it, and he can run the program with an Atari emulator on his PC, to check what other options he has to change the format of the file (for example to .MID).

Dear dbsys, I take the opportunity to ask you: do you have the Score Perfect Professional manual in English?

Greetings.

Well, I have Score Perfect for the Atari (original version), and I am sure, it is the German version.
But I will take a closer look, when I get home and let you know exactly what I have.

Right now I installed that demo version and it works perfectly, it loads .SON, .MID and .XML files.
In the "Extras" menu you can choose between 7 languages.

Here is my version of Score Perfect: http://milan.kovac.cc/atari/software/?f ... OREPER.FTP

(Someone put funny picture instead of real picture of program... I will fix this)

Anyway, just install Atari emulator and start Score Perfect and open your son files.

Thank you anyway.
I know there is a manual in English because I had it in the 90s.
