Cubase Audio for Atari & Yamaha CBX-D5.

Postby Atarieterno » Tue Jun 19, 2018 12:08 pm

Hello friends;
I have the systems Yamaha CBX-D5 and CBX-D3, Cubase Audio and of course Atari computers.

My CBX set.jpg

But my Cubase Audio is for Falcon, although the dongle is the same as the CBX version.
Interestingly I have seen an image of the network in which Cubase Audio CBX appears "For Atari & Yamaha CBX-D5":

Considering that they are different dates from the Falcon version and that it is specific to Yamaha CBX, I suppose that the Cubase CBX user manual will be different from the one I have.
Please: someone has the Cubase CBX manual and can you share them? You can take it to a copy center to scan it and I will pay its cost.

Greetings.

Hi Atarieterno! As you probably know there is no Cubase Audio titled 'Atari Cubase Audio CBX' per se, only Cubase Audio vx.x or Cubase Audio Falcon vx.x. The manual you are after would be for Cubase Audio v1.1, also referred to as Cubase Audio Falcon v1.1, this is the version that works on ST, STe, TT to utilise the Yamaha CBX, as well as Falcon.

Software download and article: http://atarimusic.exxoshost.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=133:cubase-audio-falcon-206-and-studio-module-107a&catid=78:falcon-music-software&Itemid=343

Typically Steinberg never release new manuals every iteration of a software product, only the original manual, and an addendum for your version. So imagine you have Cubase Audio Falcon 2.xx, and have the original Cubase Audio Falcon v1.0 manual, with your 2.xx addendum, as here:
http://atarimusic.exxoshost.co.uk/Atari-Music-Network-Media/Manuals/Cubase-Audio.pdf

What you may require is the v1.1 addendum.

Thank you very much for the response, dear mate.
So, the Cubase Audio CBX package of the image is fake or is it the same as version 1.x that you say? I thought there would be a specific manual because Yamaha has menus that only correspond to its hardware:

Certainly not fake, I believe it to be the same version, Cubase Audio v1.1 aka Cubase Audio Falcon v1.1 with the capability to integrate with Falcon, or ST, STe and TT regarding audio with the CBX. Regarding manual, I think you are somewhat correct, I think it would be the v1.1 manual, or potentially v1.1 addendum. As you say Cubase Audio Falcon v2.xx do not appear to mention anything regarding CBX.

Yeah that's Cubase Audio 1.1 over at the Steinberg FTP, that's supposed to be corrupt by the way.

Here we go, one manual extract attached.

The use of the CBX boxes in conjunction with an Atari is briefly described in the CBX installation manuals - as far as I remember.

I am not aware Steinberg had dedicated CBX manuals.

Thanks for your answers, friends.
It seems that the only Cubase reference for CBX-D5 is in the "READ_ME" that our colleague Atari74user attaches.

Here I enclose the manuals of the Yamaha CBX-D5 and CBX-D3 device, to help any search for other users.

To condense the maximum of information and avoid fragmentation in several post that already exist, I also attach the Cubase Audio CBX v1.1 program that works perfectly with any red Cubase Audio dongle (the Steinberg FTP version is corrupt).

Here is the CBX-D5 System Setup Guide which is quite specific about using an Atari.

Yeah, it's included in the previous .ZIP file. But thanks anyway, your gesture of collaboration is not an abundant quality in society.
Best regards, mate.

Right now, recording audio with the TT, Cubase Audio and Yamaha CBX-D5; The TT can still teach some tricks to his brother the Falcon.
Solid as a rock, distinctive of Atari.
