Need help on converting .son to Midi

Postby patchdirector » Fri Sep 30, 2016 9:23 am

Hello out there,
between 1986 and 1992 I did a bunch of songs on my Atari ST 1024 and my Korg 01/w synthesizer. I finally got the old disks converted to images and someone helped me out to extract the content. So now I have my songs in .son format but cannot load them to any known (modern) DAW. I have hatari and steem and Cubas lite and Creator 3.1 but cannot get it run. Anyone can help me with converting the files, please?

.son : what software is it?
Do you mean .sng from Pro24 or Cubase?
Cubase 3 works perfectly with Hatari 1.9, and you can find a cracked version on many good sites.

Could you provide, please, the lotek_style's method of converting?

The main problem was to get a Creator version which worked. So lotek_style could help me out. Then I just had to mount the images from my disks and saved every single arrangement of every song as single midi file which is quite a mess now as all tracks start on the "1" despite most of them did not in the original. However this is not the key. now have my songs in midi format and can work on it.
