I've been reading through this sub-forum and a few linked sites on the subject but I'm left with a question...
If using a software solution only, I want to produce floppy disk image files *on the ST* and be able to take those same image files and write out a floppy disk of it at a later date *on the ST*, what's the best method?
I know some disks are copy protected of course, but assuming I was imaging cracked titles as opposed to protected originals, it should be do-able in software on the ST no?
Bonus points if (i.e. only nice to have's, not necessary):
1) the images can also be created and/or written back to floppy on Windows or Linux
2) the resulting files can be used directly in emulators or converted to formats emulators can understand.
I want to stay away from hardware like Discovery Cartridges etc.
Any suggestions / known issues?
