Powering options for the CosmosEX Mini/MicroCosmos?

Postby simonsunnyboy » Fri May 12, 2017 3:21 pm

As my CosmosEX Mini/MicroCosmos was recently delivered, what ways are there to power the device properly?

There is a Mini USB port near the ACSI connector but as Jookie already told me, it is a very tight fit for most cables.

Is it possible to power the device through the Micro USB of the RaspPi? A friend said, I should work as it is 5V on top and below. But I want to ask first ;)

Are there more options? As the floppy emulation is missing, I am usure if the 4pin flat connector on top is for a floppy power cable or for something else?

A pictured guide would be awesome! :D

Addendum after the first test run, powering through the MicroUSB seems to work.

It works, but there is no way to turn it off... unless unplugging it...
I must say I do not like a single bit the design of the main power, being so close to tha acsi port as to prevent the insertion of any cable... Should have been warned about this issue
