Accelerated Amiga Core?

Postby kortina » Mon Mar 27, 2017 12:03 pm

Hi Guys,

I was watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBRZtgDvhjQ

Jim Drew explains at 14:34 that his FPGA Arcade is running the Amiga core with a 020 @ 56.8 Mhz

Would this be something that would be able to make it to the MiST?

The rest of the video is worth watching too.

If I understand it that is using the 020 core from Yaqube which isn't open source yet AFAIK.

Technically any release (bitfile) which uses any MiniMig RTL has to provide source for all parts of the design because of the MiniMig licensing.

So that bitfile for FPGArcade hasn't been released anywhere.

Didn't the FPGA Arcade folks roll their own Amiga core (I could be wrong but I thought they did.. I think they made their own C64 core)

Yaqube did the AGA core and some work on the Paula floppy support but i was under the impression that there was still enough MiniMig in there too require them to open source releases
