CP/M on MiST?

Postby rittwage » Sun Mar 05, 2017 3:26 pm

Are there any cores which emulate a very basic Z80 or 8080-based computer that runs CP/M? Bonus points for something that outputs to a serial port somehow to attach a terminal, or emulates one with the VGA output...

I would assume the AMSTRAD/Schneider CPC core should be able to run CP/M out of the box (just as the original did)?

The CPC-Core could start CP/M 2.2 from OS-DIsk 4:

But CP/M 3.0 didnt work.

Didnt try CP/M on MSX, but the MSX-Core has some startup-problems on some MiST-Revisions :(

not exactly what you want, I would like to see one too!!, MSX core can run CP/M binaries, eg MBASIC, some apps need to setup the terminal mode - (I never managed to do this). Some guy ported -limited alpha version- the muticomp z80, it just boots to BASIC no support for DSK images IIRC.

I'll give the AMSTRAD setup a try. I assume it would need work to utilize a joystick port as serial instead?

Or this that even possible? It looks like the joystick ports are attached to the main ARM cpu in the MiST, not directly connected to FPGA?

EDIT: I see there is a serial port on MiST (SV2) that is not extended to a connector. It seems it's supported on Amiga and Atari ST only?
