Same as Falcon +CT60+SuperVidel?

No. All older accelerators like the CT60 are kind of an investment insurance so that you still have a "modern" machine while keeping all your important programs. Today this has changed because you should have moved on to a different architecture with your specific needs.

If you have fun with the Apollo accelerator just buy it but it's not an Amiga or Atari anymore.

Anima, so on an Vampirized Amiga no Amiga applications run anymore...? (On an Vampirized Amiga with EmuTOS no clean GEM applications can run?) On Vampirized AMiga totally new developed software and OS has to be used?

nope,
due to in opposite to any amiga, Falcon with CT60 is still hardware compatible with stock Falcon :)

Same as Amiga 500 with Vampire.

Or get RPi for only fraction of Vampire price. It provides around the same level of emulation. Some UAE builds show crazy points in Sysinfo as well.

Why you mention this?

anima wrote: "Amiga 500 with Vampire is degraded to a keyboard/mouse adapter."

and 1st1 conclude: "Same as Falcon +CT60+SuperVidel?"

and I agree with 1st1: if Amiga 500 with Vampire is degraded to a keyboard/mouse adapter than Falcon+CT6x is also degraded to a keyboard/mouse adapter.

Do you know that in the Cyclone FPGA chip on Vampire is still a lot of space left to upload VHDL code for Shifter, Videl, Combel, Yamaha, DSP, ... ?

What is MHz speed of Vampire CPU?

There is some impressive numbers :D

and what is "Video" read/write in Memory test?

And that's the reason why they are not in the firebee yet.

I must admit that I'm a little bit disappointed by the performance indicated by these tests. It seems to be on par with a CT60. Of course, this is just a benchmark so real life results may be better. Or worse :)

I didn't post that stuff myself here, as this runs on Amiga, and it is not (yet) related to Atari hardware.
My original post is on the Apollo Forum.

calimero wrote:What is MHz speed of Vampire CPU?

The CPU is Apollo 68080. Implemented inside Altera Cyclone III FPGA.
I'm not sure if we can really speak about MHz speed for FPGA stuff. Apollo / FPGA gurus could say more.

calimero wrote:and what is "Video" read/write in Memory test?

That's part of Kronos mysteries, OL should explain.

but FPGA chips must work at some frequency... right?

btw
why there is Kronos and zBench?
Kronos is writen by OL (Olivier Landemarre) and zBench by Zorro (http://zorro.arcadia-crew.com) in 2002.?
What is Zorro real name?

Currently it works at about 90 Mhz and in this core version FPU is unavailable. Anyhow some results are worse and others are much better than CT60. They still work on better speed.

Now it would be nice if the author of aniplayer could add support for AMMX (like the DSP option)...

Forget these funny ebay auctions.

Apollo didn't publish any SDK for 3rd party cores, so talking about emulation of other systems is nonsense until Apollo turn its face to users and 3rd part developers.

What do you need? Take 68040/60 programmers manual and you have most you need. You also get the details about SAGA, Vincent did, and they also give you instruction for AMMX (it's very similar to MMX on Pentium P55C). If you need this, go to the apollo-core.com website and join the IRC chat and ask Mr. BigGun. He will be happy, I promise you. Documentation on ATARI ST(E)-TT-Falcon and Amiga is also well known, there is a lot. Conclusion: Everything is there.

prove it...
